what type and brand of gel/marker/paint pen are you using to sign your cues? I have not found one that I like yet. I saw a Nitti yesterday that was signed so small and clear that it amazed me.

I am using a "Pilot Precise V5" rolling ball extra fine pen. I had that recommended to me by D.Diekmann and so far I like it.

The very best..........
Pigma MICRON 01 with 0.25mm line width
"Micro pigment ink for waterproof & fade proof lines"
made by SAKURA Color Products Corp. Japan
available at most any well stocked arts & crafts store.

Pen

I think it's called a plotter's pen or something like that. A buddy gave it to me. It looks like it has a very fine ball and the ink dries quick and doesn't run. The only problem I have with it, besides that my writing sucks, is the ball is so fine if you press to hard it catches in the finish or wood depending on wheather you sign it after a coat or if you do it on bare wood.

invisible signature

my signature is so crappy that i'm using a pen that only showes up under ultraviolet light. i put name and date on before last finish coat. i like it that way because it doesnt distract from cue, but can be identified. besides, being an old hippy i just like blacklights.

Hi Ryan,
Varney is correct, it's a great pen for signing cues, except it's available as small .005" line width. It will say what the line width is on the top of the cap. It's the same pen I use. It's also available in a number of colors.
Happy cue making. Dennis

I Have Also Heard That The Gel V-ball Is Excellent For Signing Cues As Well. I Currently Use India Ink Pens (the Name I Forget). They Don't Smear When Finishing, And They Are Available In .001,.005,.007 Tip Widths,(black Only). It's Funny That Something As Little As Finding A Good Pen To Sign Your Work Is Such A Search. I Probably Tried 50 Diffrent Pens Trying To Get The Signiture Right. One Of The Deep Dark Secrets Of Cuemaking.:) :) :)

That is a damn good idea.

OK, I just received my shipment of Pigma MICRON pens and they look awesome. You guys are great! I plan on using them tomorrow.

Now, I need one in white. I didn't see that Pigma offered it. Any suggestions?
