Simonis cloth shadows HELP

Well, all I can say is that if done correctly even if the cloth was over stretched in the stretch to side direction, there's no way as its impossible to have the same stretch shadows on the anchor side as the first stretch direction on the anchor side is straight from the side pocket to the corner pockets, which eliminates any possible chance of having any stretch shadows at all on that side of the slate, but you can clearly see the stretch shadows meaning the cloth was not installed according to the instructions in my DVDs. Those stretch shadows clearly show the cloth was stretched side to side on both sides of the slate, and the only way that could have been done was if the cloth was first installed end to end first, which is what the wrinkles in the corner pockets reflect, if the cloth was installed according to the instructions, there wouldn't be any wrinkles in the loose cloth in the corner pockets.

Looking at the pictures you posted again, the left picture was the first side stretched and stapled, the right picture was the second side stretched and stapled, as it clearly shows more stretch shadows. To correct the problem, they pulled the staples going down the sides to relax the stretch, then re-stapled' the cloth....correct?

First install. Followed the install perfectly. I was there.

Shadows like the photos I posted. Guys baffled. Simonis gets involved after seeing pics and a few phone calls. They think it may be an issue with that bolt of cloth. Let's replace it with another batch of 860 green. 7 weeks later.....

Exact same procedures. The way it has always been done. Per your DVD instruction. You saw the pics. Same result. Everyone still perplexed. So the guys say what the heck ---- let's use a different approach and over the next hour or so and re-stretch it.

So - your comments about it being installed incorrectly is way off, Glen. I have detailed notes from your DVDs and can assure you they followed them precisely. Both times. And NO, it was NOT stretched end to end first. And YES they did mark it perfectly. They didn't lie about anything. There were many others present that can attest to that.

I agree with your comment "tight and correctly installed are two different things."

Based on what I witnessed on three total installs using 860 in two different colors with the same crew using the same procedures, I was miffed on the issues with the GC install.

Did they mark the cloth for how far they were going to stretch it side to side, if so, what did they measure the stretch to be?

Glen --- the part you have right is the last sentence only. They didn't so much relax the cloth as release it and then not only pulled slightly toward them but also toward the corner pocket - which was telling me the stretch wasn't pulled correctly end to end. And that's only my thought after watching what they did to correct it.
 
And yes, they did mark the cloth side to side after doing the maximum stretch and the releasing it as per the DVD - but the exact amount I don't recall. I'd have to reference my notes which aren't with me. They also marked the side pockets correctly.

What I can't figure out, is how they got stretch shadows on both sides of the slate:confused:
