SIMONIS FUZZ

I played on a post flood simonis. I couldn't believe they let it out the door! My buddy just got a beautiful, one owner GC1 2 or so years ago. He had the top Philly mechanic install the cloth. They knew it was not that good but put it on anyway to get him playing. Simonis sent a replacement piece, and my buddy is waiting for the "flood" cloth to get a bit more worn before replacing. If I were him, I'd bite the bullet and rip that off. It plays like garbage. Simonis lost a lot of reputation IMO letting a single piece of that stuff out the door.

They should have pulled a 1982 Tylenol and recalled every single piece to do damage control. (way better would be to not have ever let it out the door, I don't know what they were thinking)

Would someone link me a cheap light on Amazon that works for checking the logo/serial number. I don’t know anything about them. Thanks!
I ordered a light from Amazon. Will have tomorrow. My cloth is from 2010… should it have a number on it? Will follow up.

likely thinking about how to stay in business. you'd have to see the books to really know. desperate times can sometimes lead to desperate measures. Putting a cost on loss of confidence due to bad batch might be a very difficult business cost to quantify.

You're comparing pool table cloth with a drug that might kill you??? You in the drama club in hs??? ;) This happens with any product. That's why they put the serial #'s on them. They don't hand inspect every bolt of cloth that rolls out the door. When they found out about a problem they take care of it. Deadstick's post #21 describes his doings with Simonis. Looks like they took good care of the guy. Simonis' rep was not tarnished in any way. Still have trouble finding it it sells so fast.

Just took this pic of the serial number on my cloth and will contact the company. It’s real Simonis and came from a very reputable local dealer here where I live. If my cloth was installed upside down, then the watermark wouldn’t read correctly. Thanks everyone for the replies to my comment. 👍

I surely will boogieman. I did contact Simonis late Friday afternoon and left a voicemail. To my disbelief, it was only about 20 minutes later that I got a call back from Simonis. I spoke with an extremely nice lady representative who was genuinely concerned with my cloth issue. I gave her my cloth's serial number and she said that someone from their appropriate department would definitely be in touch with me this coming week. I look forward to hearing from them. Thanks everyone.

EDIT: Oh.... and to the OP of this post....by no means am I trying to hijack this post of yours. I'm so glad you made this post about this issue which may very well help anyone that did receive a faulty product and happens to read this thread you started. I personally cannot thank you enough. Thanks!!! 👍

Hello everyone and sorry for the delayed feedback. After speaking with a few Simonis representatives, my dilemma has been resolved. I sent approximately 12 or 13 pictures of my table cloth and close up pics of my shark grey 860 to a very interested representative within the company. This rep relayed my concerns and documentation to the higher ups. I received an email today from this spectacular rep. that I would be receiving a brand new replacement cloth.

I am very happy with Simonis at this point and cannot wait to get, and install my new, AND CORRECT.... 😁, Simonis 860. Thank you all for your comments and replies. And....once again.... I did not mean to hijack this thread, but I do hope that my input here for anyone that has the same issue as I've had, will reach out to Simonis with the PROPER documentation in order to resolve any unfortunate issue(s) you may be experiencing.

In closing, I have nothing at all but GOOD to say about my interactions with Iwan Simonis. They stepped up to the plate and made right, what was wrong. Best wishes.

New guy here! I just recently acquired and rebuilt a table and installed 860. I noticed that it was getting the fuzz and thought, that can't be right. Of course AZB had the answer. Called Simonis, they asked me to reach out to the retailer, Billiard City. Eugene over there was awesome and had a new cloth in the wind and to my house in less than a week. Customer service lives! A big thanks to the OP, AZB, Simonis and Billiard City!

they've had issues since the flood. doesn't seem to be all that widespread. good to see them make it right, as they should. it looks like the cloth is not getting the final shearing on the play side.

So check this out!!!

I walk into the kitchen and my wife is messing with this little thing that looks like a ln electric razor on a sweater. I ask her what she is doing and she says de-fuzzing the sweater!

Ding!

I immediately borrow her little shaver and head to the Simonis fuzzed table, and like magic it is working! I just ran a wet microfiber over it to lift some more fuzz and going in for a second pass. It ain’t fast but if I can prolong this cloth it will be worth the effort!

I will see if I can get a link to the Amazon but she said it was cheap.
