Simonis Std Green 860 -- their website Fails so I ask the experts

If the slate doesn't have a backer then all of a sudden my way looks good.

What do you mean by this statement? You have no way of using your tack strips or 2 sided tape to finish a slate with no backing, and therefore must use glue, so what are you talking about?

fact more than 2 to 1 and I know another in the mech who has more than you

If you check out the reputation points list of 12544 members, you'll find that I'm at 202 on that list points wise, while you're not even in the top 1,000...and no other mechanic has more points than I do...not that it even matters to me...but it must to you, but nice try:D

you have four times as many posts than me and I have half the points. My math says I am right.

Sorry, rep points don't go by how many posts you make, they get awarded to you by other AZ'ers for a post you made as a way of rewarding you for something you said or did. So, points have nothing to do with posts....so your MATH is offfffffff:D

your logic is not logical, of course posts have everything to do with rep points and thats exactly what you just said. The more you post the more reps can be given. You can't give rep to the same person on the same post more than once right.

"the420trooper" has 1071 posts, yet he's the all time leader in points...how is that John...as far as your MATH goes:D:D

easy its called a weighted average, I have not reviewed that list and didn't even know it existed or I wouldn't have baited you to find out how many you had.

Now if you look at that list my theory is that the guys or gals with the most posts will have the most points, Am I wrong? If not I am right

Whoops, out of beer, I'll be back

Totally wrong;) click on where it says community above and then click on the members list, then at the top of the reputation column click on the rep and it'll show you from the highest to the lowest in rep points.

Your right, wrong but not me. Given the fact that our room is small compared to the larger rooms you are looking at a comparison that is not relevant # 1. I defer to sidepocketmike and the Brian for their opionions in this regard and will leave it them. Now I am going for beer.

and if I am not mistaken I see another mech thats way ahead of you on that list.

John, when I first started posting in the mechanic's section 2 1/2 years ago, it was DEAD, no one was talking to each other at all, and we were not speaking as a group. Now, because of all my efforts we have a group of mechanics....including you:D that communicate to each other for the good of the customers that look to us for answers:D It's going to be hard for any mechanic that does not know what he's talking about to make any headway here in this section, because combined...we all have a tremendous amount of knowledge....and THAT was my goals when I first started posting here, and I've done that...by sharing my knowledge with everyone here. Can you say the same thing about yourself?

Glen

Here's a better question for you John, have you noticed that "mrpenquin" with his Penquin rails doesn't post here any more? I wonder why!

Glen

there are NOT alot of people talking in this forum, I have alot talking to me though, so your answer is yes I have

In fact yes I do and I speak with Fred from time to time.

I'll tell you why, because I don't feel that it's right to come on here and promote bar table replacement rails to mechanic's at a mechanic's price, then turn around and sell the same rails to a bar owner for the same price. Secondly, they've done nothing to improve their bar table rails, while Kerry and I designed the best rails in the history of bar tables, priced for mechanics, sold to mechanics...and supported by mechanics. Kerry and I won't play both sides of the fence...and at some point you have to take a stand, and I stand with the mechanics, as customers come and go in this industry, but the good mechanics are still out here year after year grinding out a living, supporting pool one table at a time, so I think they deserve some respect from the parts industry, and that's what I support.
