This is just a curiosity question on my part. I have had my Diamond table for a little over 2 years now, and while the cloth doesn't look as new, it actually looks quite good, really good as a matter in fact. I do vacuum it regularly, every two days or so. When I go out to play pool, some places tables just look used, and that's fine, but some places tables have cloth that not only looks well used but also has a shiny glossy, almost waxed look to the cloth. The one pool hall I first noticed this at was when I was traveling to see my son, and I stopped in one where he lives just to see what it was like. Their Goldcrown's cloth literally looked as though you burnished in a heavy wax coating. Yesterday afternoon by our summer house, the wife and I stopped at a different place than we normally frequent, and they had a diamond barbox there, and the cloth had the same worn waxy look to it. Table played ok, but honestly for a buck a game, I really prefer this other place we normally stop at that is 25 cents a game, but they are not open Sunday or Monday. At the first place with the Goldcrowns, the balls were nice and shiny, and I figured it might have been from them cleaning the balls so much and what they were using transferring to the cloth. But this bar yesterday, it for sure wasn't from cleaning the balls that I could tell. At home I clean mine every two to three weeks, or when company comes over, and I haven't noticed any transfer of wax. So, my question I guess, is it just really over worn cloth, or possibly ball cleaning solution transfer, or both?

I wish I had taken a picture of the cloth on a 9' table here. It was impossible to tell the original color, the cloth was so worn and thin that it was transparent. You could clearly see the grey slate beneath. That room closed but recently reopened. They moved the tables out during the closure so I'm sure it has been recovered by now.

There are Simonis 860 and 760. 760 has nylon in the weave. The two look differently over time.

Not Teflon, they literally looked as though you took a spatchula with some paste wax and filled the weave of the cloth in smooth to where you didn't see any texture. Almost has a bit of yellowish cast. Maybe that's the way it gets when it's really worn out. It's just so shiny though, almost as if the cloth was picking up a wax finish from balls that were cleaned every day. We probably average 8 to 10 games a day on our home table, and I'm sure will get about 5 years out of it before wanting to recover.

I'm not a mechanic. They are either using too much polish or the wrong kind. The wax in the polish is building up over time.

860, 860HR and 760 all have nylon in the weave.
860 is 90% wool and 10% nylon. 860HR is 70% wool and 30% nylon. So is 760. When I worked in the pool hall we used 860 on all the tables. The nylon in 760 did not look as good over time. I believe the nylon would lose dye. I have never seen 860HR. Quit playing in 2008 after losing vision thanks to CA finish on my cues.

BBB, If you are having trouble with your reading comprehension, you can always ignore it and mind your own business, or if thats not possible for you, just call your doctor as I'm sure they could prescribe something for your headache.

i just wont read something presented like that.
it is not user friendly.
I was just making a suggestion that I thought would also help others in reading your message.
I was hopeful you would take my suggestion and improve the ease of reading your post.
but it seems instead of you taking my post as constructive criticism as it was intended.
you got offended.
I did ignore it and not read it because of it’s presentation.

There's a local bar around me that their clothe is extremely shinny and slick, I was told they hand wax there balls with a car wax and it's now embedded into the clothe. I have no real ideal but it makes sense 🤷🏻‍♂️
