Simple socket trick for centering new tip

A deep well metric socket can be used to center a new tip for gluing. For a 14mm tip I use a 14mm six-sided socket. Prepare the tip then slide it to the bottom of the socket. Next, wrap blue painter's tape around the shaft/ferrule until the shaft will also fit snug in the socket. Apply glue to the ferrule then slide the socket containing the tip over the ferrule.

I feel that eyeballing is good enough at this stage...the overhang is going to be trimmed off anyway. Just make sure it overlaps all the way around.

i have to eyeball 13.5mm LePro's.when i first started doing it,i ruined a few,but it is pretty easy now.i wouldn't think 14mm would pose any problem at all.the key for me was to twist the tip into place,if you push it into place the superglue dries to fast.
