Simplified Kicking

I need some help on finding a simplified system for figuring one and 2 rail kick shots. I know there are a lot out there but there has got to be something out there that doesn't require tons of memorization of numbers and stuff. just kinda looking for one that will correspond with the diamonds and numbers like 1, 2, and so on. Maybe I've combined to systems or something but whatever I am doing currently is confusing as heck

I would recommend Grady Mathews tape "Only Kicks". It helped me alot. This tape will give you solid starting points, and you can tweek the systems to allow for your stroke and speed. Excellent tape in my opinion.

I find on one rail kicks, i find something close to what i want, then use speed and slight english to really TUNE in and get accurate. I also find that on some kicks i change the objective of the shot to something my mind can work out a little easier. Say I'm kicking at the one and the 6 is fairly close to the line, i don't try to kick at the one, but i go for barely missing the 6. This works for me on those 'hard to see' kicks. Look at the Diamonds too. If your just slightly off of a 'straight in kick' you can hit it harder to come short, and softer to go long. I find kicking and banking to be something i kinda taught myself. I read tonnes of stuff about diamond systems and watched Tom Rossmans kicking videos, and i find it just complicates things. I just try to simplify every shot, but diverting my attention to something i can attain a little easier, like that just missing the 6 ball example i gave you. I like to think I'm a pretty decent kicker and banker.

Get someone to show you the simple one-cushion mirror system (angle in = angle out) using the diamonds. Also have them show you the "two rail parallel into the corner" system. Any good instructor should know the simple systems and how to present them simply.

Is that the parallell shift method? I like it, but i don't use it. Build up some feels MAN!!! The paralell shift method is good though, and if you don't have the FEELS yet its pretty easy to tune into. One more thing i forgot to mention. Look at the kick from the first rail you are going to contact, then try to judge the angle in angle out method, pick your spot on the rail you want to contact, walk back around the table to the ball, and hit the spot you chose. You will prolly have a tendency to come a little short on this shot while your learning, thats what i struggle with anyways, trying not to judge it too short on a one rail kick. The Mirror mode system works, but its hard to visualize unless you have something PHYSICLY there to pick a spot on. There is a banking device that is basicly just a Ball on a stand thats meant to help you with the mirror system. i think Muellers has it.
