SJM Sizes up 2023 in Pro Pool

Looks like this thread has run its course. Thanks for the responses.

If I'm allowed one last observation, Matchroom maintained the same breaking rules for the entire year. In 2022, they modified these rules mid-season and I didn't approve. Rules and conditions should be standardized at the beginning of every sporting year and stuck to for the full year. Well done!

IV What Did You See?

What did you see that I missed? With which of my choices do you disagree? What major happenings in pro pool did I overlook?
Thank you sjm! I read your entire post, but not the rest of the thread. The one thing I would add would be the number of significantly added money (more than $5000) One Pocket tournaments there were in 2023 -- and all of them well covered by streamers. I could hardly keep up there were so many! To my eyes, 2023 was a MAJOR year for One Pocket for sure. I would like to thank every person and company that contributed to that!

BTW 2024 is also already shaping up to be another banner year for One Pocket tournaments!! I'm crossing my fingers there is no burn-out lol 🤞

As you didn't read the whole thread, Steve, here's an excerpt from post #18 made by me:

A highlight of the year in the discipline was the release of Steve Booth's new book "The Art of One Pocket." Competitively at one pocket, the highlight of the year in one pocket was surely 68-year-old Efren Reyes' run all the way to the semifinals at Derby City one pocket.

Thanks for keeping us advised of the growth in one pocket at the tournament level.

Finally, congratulations on the publication of "The Art of One Pocket," which I've now read from cover to cover. I hope others will pick up a copy of this fine book.

Obviously I should have read the rest of the thread lol! Thank you for the kind words sjm!!

I've never actually heard Scott commentate (in part because I was a Mosconi Cup attendee) but I'm glad to hear he's making the grade.
I know you don't necessarily seek out One Pocket to watch per se, but to hear Scott commentate a bunch of One Pocket, go to Youtube and Railbird TV's channel and cue up any of the 2023 Derby City Classic One Pocket videos -- I believe he did all of their 1P commentary. Here is an example:
