sjm vs TheOne

SJM won his first match against Peter Burrows, any more on his match with TheOne?

Sorry for the delay. I was asked to be scorekeeper and couldnt do updates on my phone. It took too much attention way from keeping on top of the match.

TheOne prevailed over SJM, 100 TO 83. SJM had his chance toward the end, but missed a crucial break shot when Riley was at 91. TheOne ran 9 to win.

More detail to follow if anyone is interested. Hard to type a lot on my phone.

In the interest of the forum I decided to ignore the racist troll (who shall also remain nameless! :D ) in the other thread, as I'm sure SJM will provide some great updates so don't want to let then ruin it.

Besides I've had such a good week in NYC, Amsterdam billiards not only has some GREAT players, it has some pretty cool people two. They certainly looked after me all week, I think half of them post on this forum!

I hate playing friends at the best of times but I have to say SJM had some very good chances to win. It was a very scrappy match and he potted some great balls, maybe just 1 or 2 cost him the match.

I was still sulking from missing a couple of easy balls in my first match against NVB to lose by 20. I think Stu got a rough deal in the next as Mr Hatch ran 84 and out on him!

I was well down in my next match to Jerry, before running 57 to take the lead 87:79. I left mysefl strait on my break ball but managed to punch it in and (to my own surprise lol) nudged one ball out with a perfect angle. I got all excited thinking I was gonna run 70 and out and missed it like a goose lol!

Still managed to fall over the line. I got the best player in the world tomorrow at 1pm, some alien robot from the phillipines but couldn't be more excited! Win, lose, or draw you just can't beat playing the sport you love in a world championships, sjm is as happy as a pig in...err a candy store? :o

I'm briging the laptop tomorrow.. . will be able to give faster and more detailed updates.

Also, Hatch beat sjm: 100 to 11. Hatch ran 84-and-out for the win. I tink thats is the 4th highest so far. Souquet had a 101 and Hohmann posted a 100-and-out against Bobby Hunter. Those are the only 100+ runs so far, in the race-to-100 group stage.

Even the best players in the world lose matches; might as well be to an IT guy from England! :)
