I just took this cue in on trade and I'm not sure if I am going to keep it or not. If someone really wants it, I'll sell it - otherwise I'm going to try it as my everyday cue. It hits great and looks awesome. Skip's point work is absolutely the best I've seen. OK, now onto the cue....

1997 Skip Weston
19.5 oz
3/8-10 screw
Ebony forearm
Tulipwood points
4 veneers (outside to inside-tulipwood, tulipwood, bloodwood, ebony)
Wood rings at the A, B, C & E positions
Leather wrap
Tulipwood and ebony butt sleeve
95+% perfect condition

If anyone is seriously interested, please PM me your questions.

Thanks

I would say it retails for around $1150, $1300 with ivory ferrules. This would be $850 for basic cue, $200 for the rings, $100 for the wrap and $150 for ivory ferrules. You can check out his website and his pricing structure is there.

Hey pooltime-

If I had to guess, I'd say that you got this cue from a guy who owns a room somewhere in New York and that he is friends with another guy named
Ronnie P.
Ron is a friend of mine and this cue used to be mine. My only reason for parting with it was to finance the purchase of Paul Fanelli cue. But I have to say, this cue really is a looker. It has some of the finest looking tulipwood I've seen and it was newly refinished and rewrapped by Skip himself. It played great. I was sad to see it go.

Great cue. Great price. Pooltime, you may wanna hang onto this one for a while but if not, any of you would be lmaking a sound investment.

Just thought I'd add my two cents.

Ronnie P. = Ron Parks? Senior or Junior? or do I have the wrong people?

Hey Chef-
Ronnie Piontkowski. He used to play with Toby Sweet before Toby's move to Florida. Ronnie now owns a room in my area (right on the New York/New Jersey border) right down the road a bit from Toby's old room. Every summer or so, Toby comes back for a few weeks and we get a real treat watchnig one of the best pool players of all time run rack after rack.

Brian:

I did not get the cue from a room owner, but from a player in NYC. My guess is that he probably got it from the room owner you mentioned. The cue is fabulous and does look great - makes sense that you mentioned it was newly refinished and re-wrapped, because it does look as new.
---------------
Rackin Zack is about right that the cue is/was around $1150 new, but if you go to Skip's website - it has not been updated since May of 2003 - so prices are most likely higher now, maybe $1250 for the same cue new + the waiting time.

I've had several offers, thank you everyone and no I am not selling this in auction format. Like I mentioned in my original post, I wasn't 100% that I was going to sell the cue. If I got the "right" offer it goes, otherwise I will be happy to hold onto it, play with it and keep it as an investment as Skip's cues are only going to go up in price.

Thanks.
