Slate chip repair

So I've got my table close to ready to start dealing with the slate. I'm planning on using bees wax as suggested by Average Joe to seal the cracks between the slate pieces. but there are a couple of places where things are a bit more dicey. I'd like to do something fairly permanent with them before putting everything together and leveling. How best should I approach this? I'm guessing something like Bondo with careful sanding once cured? Is there a better way?

Yeah bondo, if those are at the seams you can do it all at once after leveling.
I like to use a stiff 12" sheetrock knife and scrape the excess off before it gets too hard. The bigger spots might need a second coat.

Call me, I'll tell you what to do, 702-927-5689

I used a piece of PTFE sandwiched between the two pieces of slate, to provide a flat surface for where they meet. I then filled in both chips with JB Weld metal, using a flat scraper to take off the excess. That gave me a nice sharp edge where the two pieces meet and a flat surface that's level with the rest of the slate. It's been a couple of days now and it's rock hard, so should work fine.
