Tired of getting bad rolls? Check out COOPSLATE, located in Papagaio, Brazil, the world's largest geological reserve of high-quality slate. I had no idea this is how slate was made.

Open quarries, nearly perfect horizontal splitting plane (cleavage), and multiple thickness of the extractable slabs make it possible to have lower costs and higher productivity in full compliance with environmental policies. Because environmental preservation has always been a concern, water is re-used after processes of decantation and filtering.

...geeezzz jam, you're such a tease, thanks.
been awhile since a refresher on slate.
needs updated

this page may not work as addressed.

Can we hope now that the CCP has the upper hand on environmental preservation of earths minerals that its recently acquired asset will be harvesting soon from the US northeast region?

It is amazing when billiards is in action what the history actually is played on.
...merry christmas miss santa

cheaper imported slate was the reason Brunswick closed their quarries in Vermont and Penn. actually, WW2 is why they closed them and after the war they didn't re-open and used up what they had on hand and then switched to imported slate. cheaper to just buy it and not have to mess with all the quarrying/processing costs.

Things I Just Realized Today:
My username IS a pool pun. (It's really based on my last name.) But I am the superhero known as Slateman. When you need a table cleared, call me. I will run them out (or pick them up and put them in the pockets). Slateman fears no one (except people wanting to bet.) No one is better than Slateman (in his house, today 12/11/2022 at 11:52 am).

That is interesting. I did not know that,.

At the old Salt City Billiards in Syracuse, NY, Jim Rempe told me that he suffered back problems when Brunswick shortened the pool table by 3 inches. He said they did so because that way they could get more pool tables in the truck for delivery. I never questioned him about it because I figure, heck, that's King James. He is a tall man. We were sharing a bowl of homemade tortellini soup at the time. There were a lot of excellent Italian restaurants in Syracuse, as well as another cool pool room, Capps. We used to enjoy going there for Joss Tour events.

Here's a photo I took of him that weekend. Salt City Billiards used to be a regular stop on the Joss Tour when we used to travel for Joss Tour events. Rempe lived in Pennsylvania at that time and didn't venture out much, though he did come to a few Joss Tour events. In this one, the finals came down to Jim Rempe and Karen Corr. Jim won, Karen came in second, and my Keithie came in fourth.

At the IPT King of the Hill, King James was gracious enough to allow me to snap a pic of him and Keith.

Thats why I get bad rolls, I don't speak Italian but I do speak Spanish, and even though they don't speak it in Brazil the surrounding countries do . So the Spanish countries are closer than Italian speaking or Chinese. I hope to find a table with these slates on soon
