Slipstik Application

Slip Stic Review

I've been using Slip Stic for about two months. This stuff works great! I think it'll put the Talcom Powder people out of business. :D

Pete Lafond is great to work with. His web site easy to work with, ordering, etc.

I use this product on my Richard Black cue. I follow the directions that Pete laid out for application, but I imagine that how ever it gets on your shaft, it will do a super job.

OH. I thought you might be close to Indianapolis but your a good distance away. One of the places in Indianapolis I play at is Airport Billiards. I use to travel to Indy at times. Another place is Chalky's, but I heard they closed.

Pete,

I was just wondering what the shelf life of the cleaner, and the slip-stic is.

Thanks,
Rodney

The Cleaner evaporates but the container is specially lined to prevent dissipation. If the lid is kept tight, then should be good for a year +. If never opened then 2 years.

Had to edit this, forgot the Conditioner.

Conditioner is good for 3 years. It will not lose consistency or change in any way at all for that period.

Have you distributed this product to any pool halls in St Louis?

Not yet. It is a very difficult task getting SlipStic into pool rooms. I have been working with CueStix, they do not do internet sales as they are distributors to pool rooms. Anyone who is interested in their pool room carrying SlipStic can either give me contact information or have the pool room call me at 585 226 1272.

Chalkys was open a couple months ago, did it close down in the last month or so?

And are you sending cleaners to everyone that ordered or just the orders that are comming in now?

Thanks

I was recently told that they were closed and just found out that they re-opened. It's a very nice place, all Diamond tables.

Regarding the Cleaner: A letter was sent with samples in May offering a free cleaner. I instead sent a cleaner to everyone that had ordered the product. If someone had already ordered a cleaner, I sent an extra one out with their order.

Because of the problems with the Post Office, mailing the cleaner ended up taking a long time and being quite costly. I believe everyone is finally beginning to receive the cleaner now. It would be nice if everyone that had received a cleaner as well as those that did not were to email me letting me know the status. Thanks.

Sounds great, Ill wait till later next week and if I havent received a cleaner (or if I have) Ill sure drop you a line and let you know.

And yes, Chalky's is a very nice room. I was lucky enough to attend a clinice there put on by Jeanette and had a very nice time.

You can catch her there quite often.

Pete - Just got the Cleaner.

It just came in the mail - Can't wait to try it. If it works anything like the Conditioner, I won't have to do all the work I have been doing for over 40 years to my shafts. THANK YOU, PETE.

It will take all surface layer stuff off including grease and waxes. It will not penetrate the wood at all so it will not harm your cue. If you have a clean shaft and use the cleaner and conditioner only, your cue shaft will remain great looking and super smooth.

when i first get a shaft i sand it smooth with 1600, 2400,3600,4800,6000,8000 grit. then i finish it with this blue paper stuff by 3m that they used to finish silicon chips(or so they say).

after that i only wipe the shaft down with a soft terry cloth.......often. several times during play and when i'm done. if you've ever watched ginky play.....i wipe it down as often as him. my cues are as smooth as glass and i don't need yellow waxy build-up.

A friend of mine used to use the same paper. The only way you can get yellow waxy build up is by using a wax on your shaft. You can also pick it up from the table from other cue shafts.

How much does this cost? I went to the web site and didn't see the price anywhere, but then I am getting old. :D

You can go directly here http://shop.slipstic.com. Right now we are trying to get it into pool halls to keep the price down. You can ask your pool hall if they plan to carry it or have them call me at 585 226 1272.

Just want to give Pete a heads up, I tried ordering your product over the last couple days and each time I go to checkout I get an error message. Evidently some sort of a problem connecting to the USPS rate calculator server. No big deal, but if it happened to me it could be happening to others as well.

Once and a while the USPS site goes down. The postal service calculates rates and seems to go down at least onece every 2 days. I am trying to get it into billiard rooms so that it is more convenient and cost effective for everyone. If you think about it, have your pool hall call me and I can set them up.
