Slow play/Fast play/Shot clocks/Extensions

I play "nearly" as fast as Tony Drago and Rodney Morris. It's doesn't take long to figure out what you normally have to do. I make up my mind pretty quick and I don't "hover" over the cue more than two or three strokes. Three or four on more difficult shots. Stay down long, stay down wrong. Ever "think" yourself into missing a shot?

Some player's even resort to slow play to take their opponent out of their rhythm. Legal, don't much like it though.

Slow play is clearly not an advantage to televised pool. One extension per rack and a 45 second shot clock seems reasonable to me. Even ole "slow as molasses" could deal with that.

Pool players are slooooowwwwww :D

In snooker's Premier League this season:

20 second shot clock with two 20 second extensions per frame (compare possible 36 balls to possible 9 in pool).

Should a match go to the final frame, the frame is 10 minutes maximum, with a 20 second shot clock for the first 5 minutes and 15 seconds for the second 5 minutes.

If you would like to see these rules in action, the next Premier League installment is Thursday, starting at 2:30 p.m. EDT
