Small round dents on balls after table recovered

I recently had my table recovered and now I am getting small round dents on my new Aramith Premier balls. I have looked at the pockets and can not for the life of me find any reason for this to happen. Does anyone have any ideas?

I can only think that one or more pocket fasteners is exposed.

Did the mechanic change the pockets or simply re-install the originals?

A change in the OEM fastener pattern could put balls entering the pocket in the way of fastener heads more frequently.

If new pockets installed, is the material more compressible than OEM?

Hope you find the solution quickly.

Staples under slate under the pockets holding the cloth on.
Or visible staples/brads in the pocket area.
Carefully run your fingers under the slate in the pocket area.....
Drop pockets?? brads used to secure pockets will nick balls

Don't know, I have no idea as to what kind of pool table you have....so, I'd just be wasting my time guessing.

I've never seen a ball with a "dent" in it. Do you mean actual chips out of it and damaged balls or just round marks on the balls?

These new balls may have a problem or you may have a phenolic or G10 tip that you are breaking or jumping with. Or a screw or staple is coming in contact somewhere.

Photo would help. Else it's a guessing game.

Sounds like there's a screw head or nail head protruding somewhere... small and circular marks scream that to me... they're on the OB's and not the CB? Process of elimination, that would mean it's not a cue tip. A fastener came seem like it's countersunk, but when hit with force the material compresses, the fastener won't... just guessin'
