I miss Fountain Inn Red. He was truly one of the most colorful characters to enter a poolroom. Wow...what amazing stories he had...he could entertain a room for hours. And a jam up tournament director...his auctions would bring in twice the cash as others. He once asked me about buying one of my cues, I said "Red you already have one" he said "yes I know but Gulyassy and I are friends but I'm a bit pissed at him...bring the cue over here so he can see me pay you up real close!"
A fine player too. Definately taken off this earth way before his time. A couple of years ago at the SMS they had a huge photo of him framed really nice...and he was holding the cue I made for him and smiling like crazy. I still get the watery eyes thinking about it. I learned a lot about the game from him...and even more about making a game. God bless that man...I hope he is resting in peace. He is missed by many.

The pool scene will never be the same to me in Greenville now that Red & Bob King are gone. RIP guys :(

Stick, whats up. It's Jackson, from Athens, I talked to Stevie last night, the game is 8ball, they are playing Saturday, noon. Just thought I would let you know. Later

It funny to here you guys talk about young 15 year old players being that good..i got to see something last night that made me wish i had stayed at pool when my father (who is one hell of a shooter) got me in the game..I was at Side Pocket in Richmond Va. last night doing some practice and checking out the place for potential games later..i got to watch a 13 year old kid shoot on the table behind me...OH MY GOD...this kid could stroke em..it was insane..he was doing the normal rack all 15 balls, break, then give your self ball in hand on the first ball ..this kid did this three times in a row without missing a singel ball..i thought jeeez ..even with my game at its best..i would not touch this kid

Dont know his name but im sue it wont be long before it becomes a force to recon with here in Richmond Va

thanks jackson; i heard it was sat around noon , but i didnt know it was 8 ball , this should be fun to watch , who you pick???? STICK for 100.00????

Stick, you've known me long enough to know who I like. By the way Stevie said, it's a race to 21.
Jackson

I don't think it will happen Saturday,The APA league is having a turnament at Q's the place will be busy with people everywhere.

No,not for league play they use all the 8ft tables and they practice on the 9the problem is the place gets packed with people that don't know how to move around a pool room with out getting in the way.

Might be Chris Futrell. He plays in the Tiger Planet Pool events & I'm pretty sure he lives in VA or MD but I'm not positive. IIRC he finished 2nd or 3rd in the VA state championship tourney. JAM could confirm & she might even know what area he's from. He put Mike Davis on the one loss side at the Tiger Planet Pool season opener this yr. ;)

Slender kid with short dark hair?

Well, seeing that he works at there, I figure that he has probably took that into consideration. I just take his word for it, and say that there supposed to play Saturday around noon.
