Smokin' SOUTHWEST

This is really just silly. Ya know. I have never attacked this guy personally. All I've stated is I was curious how the heck he's getting these cues from people with long wait list so quick. I've gotten quite a few PM's agreeing with me on what i've said.

Beautiful Southwest, But I placed an order with Southwest in 00 and was told 7 years and I know they hit a snag here , there it's fine i'll wait. This guy just STARTs to play pool in 04 and has managed to get a few cues and surpass the list which is .. whatever..call it not fair, i call it Baloney. i just asked him to elaborate on it if he would. Now i KNOW what your saying leave the big cue collector alone we like to look at the pics. Well so DO I but for you to paint me or anyone else that questions the methods of obtaining these cues a VILLIAN is just ridiculous.
I'm sure this fella is a nice guy etc etc but he never really would give a straight answer and i'm called names, compared to a mass murderer, and villified for just asking, and being persistant. please

o and for the record AGAIN I never said anything negative about this cuemaker or the person. villified for asking how he got them so fast. give me a break.

You're saying you never said anything negative about the cuemaker,
but in my opinion you have suggested that Laurie has done
something underhanded like putting Kam at the
front of the line. I ordered my first South West in
Feb of 1997 and was told there would be a four
year wait. I didn't receive it until July of 2005. I
didn't complain, I just waited patiently and I have
received another three since then and I have one
more coming which should be arriving within the
next three months or so. I told Laurie a long time
ago, that I wouldn't bother her, call her every month
and ask how the cue is coming. As a matter of fact,
I've had several conversations with her about matters
pertaining to other cues and I don't bring up the
subject of the cue she's making for me now. When it gets
here...it gets here. So my advice to you my friend,
is to just wait patiently, and before you know it...
it'll be Christmas...not matter what the calender
says. Have a good day, and enjoy your South West
when you finally get it...

I have to say, I totally understand where FSutton is coming from. It can be really unnerving and frustrating to know that you signed up for some a long time ago. That you were there early on and that you waited patiently in line. Then, despite your patience, some else comes along, flashes some cash, and jumps to the front of the list.

In this case, the South West is easy to exaplin. Kam probably bought someone else's spot. Is there anything wrong with this? Not at all. This happens a lot! And not just with South West.

In the case of the Szamboti's, something different may have happened. Perhaps it was an offer for a large amount of money. Perhaps it was due to the buyer's friendship with builder. Who knows?

One thing you have to do before making any accusations like this is ask yourself...

"If I had the ability, the connections, and the financial freedom to do this(buy someone else's spot on a list; to offer a little extra to get my name on a list) would I do it?"

If you do ask yourself this question and if your answer is 'no', I fear you may not be being honest with yourself.

Put yourself in Kam's shoes. He has the freedom to be able to do these things (if this IS in fact, hat he did - and I'm not saying he did at all. I dunno) so why should he not enjoy the fruits of his labor? I think the question lies more with the cuemaker. And even then, I would have to say I would NEVER blame any businessman for turning down an offer for more money. Or for doing a little something for a friend. Like it or not, thats life. And it is not just confined to the cue business. Personally, I dont see much wrong with it.

where you see "cue-makers" , i see friends.. people i know .. talk to .. share my life with and have the privilege of sometimes sharing theirs... their history and how they got to where they are - people i have dinner with, spend time with their friends and family .. laugh with and so much more ...

to me, they are a part of my life .. not just people i buy stuff from ...

when you bring money into the equation, you cheapen this relationship ... and that i resent - deeply !

you are effectively questioning their choice and the basis of their choice to sell to whom they want ... you presumption that it all boils down to who can pay more is insulting to them and to me ...

i am nowhere close to being the wealthiest on AZ ... far far far from it ...

and i do not pay premiums on the cues i get ...

i just love cues .. maybe that comes through ... i love the people i have gotten to know .. maybe that comes through ... and i enjoying sharing all that they have added to my life ..

so kindly stop with the petty comments and stay out of my threads .. you are simply not welcome ...

i hope that puts to rest your "persistent inquiry" -

and if not, i can provide no other information that may...

I agree. I want to have some cuemaker friends as well - and I want some beautiful cues. Don't worry, I won't (can't) cheapen it with money...but I've got plenty of love to give.

Come on Kam....I'm not hatin' on you. I, along with everyone else enjoy looking at your cues. I couldn't care less how easily you can get them. Do your thing. I understand economics. You make a high enough offer and your cue comes to the forefront of the list. When you are a guaranteed customer for high-priced cues, well...that gives you some power. Cuemakers want repeat business. It makes sense. But don't post this fairy tale explanation and insult our intelligence.

If you had contacted any of these prestigious cuemakers with zero dollars - but wanted to just be 'friends' and have dinner.....well...I think we know the rest of that story.
