Smoothing Out a Linen Wrap

I have yet to perfect putting on a linen wrap, therefore I tend to shy away from doing them. I don't have a lot of experience with wraps.

That being said, I have a cue with an existing wrap already on the cue, the wrap is nice and tight but it's getting some age and it feels fuzzy and rough on the hands.

What is the best method/procedure to smooth out and older linen wrap ?? Do I very lightly sand it to get the roughness off if it ?? wet it with water and repress ?? spray it with starch and repress ?? Wax it ?? Just a simple repress ??

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Clean it with Chris's shaft cleaner.
I like to dry with a blow dryer,
Then press it, lightly sand wih 600,
Then starch and iron
Should be wicked after that

I do the same, but I finish it with some of cue components wood sealer.
