Smoothing the Seams...

First post in the mechanics section.

I am putting together my very first table. Its fun to say the least.

I am wondering what the preference and difference is between what is used to smooth the seams and fill the screw holes. The two major choices I have seen are grout and bees wax.

Is there a preference and does it make a difference?

Yes I am.....

I posted an instruction link in your other thread but here it is again -

Per the instructions (LOL) they include grout with the kit. If you can get the slateron seams super tight/level you won't need much as a gap filler. Once applied to the seams and slate screws in the middle use a putty knife to smooth down before letting it dry to minimize the sanding. Perimeter slate screws, if under the rails, don't need filling.
