Snapping cues

it never ceases to amaze me (an provide a good deal of entertainment as well) how someone posts what they think is the best post of all time, then the well respected members of this board show the OP the light and next thing ya know the OP is whining like a little school girl (my apologies to an little school girls reading this).

man if you are here to learn, then learn.

only saw a cue get snapped once. at league a new team made up of all bangers was playing. all of a sudden CRASH. apparently a missed shot was taken on the poor unsupecting cue. there was 10 seconds of stunned silence. nothing like that ever happens in that poolroom. 10 minutes later the banger comes back in like nothing happened. all the regulars agreed that if the owner was there that night, instead of being on vaction, that guy wouldnt have been let back in. absolutely no class.

Best post of all time? Whining? Bro I have been on alot of message boards for at least 10 years and know how they work with regulars and there clicks, band wagon jumpers, kik em when there down attitudes, regulars that let there lives get taken over by the boards.

U felt the need to toss ur 2 cents in and continue this after I am trying to put an end to this topic without any grudges being held against each other. Who is showing no class here? I guess my wishes mean nothing since im not a respected member.

I said before I am here to learn, pass time and be amused, not for a life lesson from people I know nothing about. Yes breaking of cues is not a good thing CLEARLY WE ALL KNOW THAT!!!!!!!!! But does that mean we can not find humor in it? Is that such a bad thing? What dont u people understand about these types of things that we all come across in life? I will now continue this topic of difference of opinion we are having for u and we will see who is left standing at the end, ok. I feel u are looking for a little attention so fire away and anyone else feel free to toss in ur 2 cents also.

Ok, my buddy is a classless jerk who should be kiked off the team, out of league and banned from pool rooms and no longer be called a friend, I should hold this incident against him and not forgive his actions. I have a bad attitude and I am a clown and should stop acting like a immature school girl. I should be a follower of the boards well respected regulars for they know best. I should disregard op's topic of the post and swing them in another direction if opportunity is there.

Now what?

??????????

I didnt think u had anything much u could comeback with anyway LOL, I guess I left u with pretty much no options eh LOL? or u aint bright enough to find any LOL. If the board finds these post entertaining like u said thats cool, one of the reason I read posts too.

Thats right chief you were posting in the thread but u decided to insult me also! so wtf back to U again. U have the balls to talk about someone having absolutely no class, in that same post u insult me? LMAO. That goes for pushout as well, for u two are the ones lacking in class! There is a difference between doing something classless and having no class at all, thats what u an pushout dont get!

All righty then..

Back on topic.

A couple of weeks ago during the last match of the night a player from the opposing team, who was having a VERY bad night missed a ball that would he would make 99.9% of the time.

It may have been the combination of alcohol and pure frustration, I'm not sure, but after missing he swung he cue down onto the floor snapping it in half below the joint. The shaft portion flipped up and caught it, with his other hand, like he had been practicing the move.

What I thought was sad/funny was how proud of himself he was for catching the shaft.

I was playing league last night and one of my teammates missed a shot and then proceeded to snap his cue and toss it about 20 feet lol, last week I missed a shot and came very close to breaking mine over the rail, I hit the rail with my cue but at last second eased up, thought I dented it but didn't whew, my teammate who snapped his last night tells me "don't snap ur playing cue! I have snapped so many cues but not my playing cue" until last night lol it was a flacon with a predator. That was the second cue snapped by a teammate this year lol.
I was at a room a few weeks back and very strong player is playing $300 a set, misses a shot walks over to room owner asks him how much a bar cue is worth gives him $20 walks back and grabs a bar cue and SNAP! lol

Anyone else have any stories of players snapping cues?
This sounds like some "Anger Management" classes are in order. I've gotten upset and hit the floor with my rubber bumper after blowing a match, but so far i've never thought of breaking a cue....

Now what?

Are you kin to Short Bus Russ? :D :D

I haven't broken any cues or shafts but I have made others slam their cue, throw their cue, break their shaft, break their cue, throw cue balls through walls and even made one or two quit pool. :)

(thinks breaking shafts is similar to cursing when you miss a shot---no biggee, but I try not to do either.) We should check with the Pope to see if this is one of the new modern sins. :p

My first year of college in Ruston, La I'd make trips to Shreveport to gamble. I went into this one bar that was having league play and asked if anyone wanted to gamble. I end up playing a guy that was at least 6'5 350lbs $10 a game.

I win a couple and barely touch the cue ball. He calls foul on me and I don't say a word because it was a foul even though we didn't usually call it back in those days. A little later the guy pushes through the cue ball and fouls so I call it on him. He goes nuts bragging about how he's been playing 15 years and it wasn't a foul etc. etc... I told him I didn't care how long he'd been playing I was winning the money and knew what was a foul.

The guy then tells me he'll just pay off so I say fine. He drops the $50 bill on the floor and motions for me to get it. He's holding his cue in his hand and I can tell he's going to hit me over the head if I bend down to pick it up. I grab a house cue off another table and put the butt on the $50 and slide it to me, then pick it up. Now he's furious and starts acting like he's going to swing the cue at me so I do the same thing with the house cue. The guy then breaks his cue, picks up the bar table to his chest and drops it. After that he runs outside and starts beating on the hood of his car. The whole time I'm wondering why this guy isn't beating the crap out of me.

The owner of the bar came up to me and said "I heard you could take care of yourself". I didn't know what he was talking about but I said "Yeah, a little". He says "No, your buddies here said you were a blackbelt in karate" I had two friends with me that apparently had seen something was going to happen and told the owner I was a black belt and that's why the guy was going nuts on the stick/table/car instead of me, he was afraid lol.... I'm sure they saved me a beating that day.

Break and run; scratch on 9 ball + 8 beers = 1 broken 314 shaft.
My only victim so far. No need in breaking $200 shafts for my inepitude.
