Good stuff cause if thats the kind of hit you like the Snipers are the nutz.
I change tips like I change my underwear. Just cause I can. The Snipers hold their shape and won't shroom on you.
Most of the people that I put tips on for that like that sort of feel, don't like to spend the money, and end up opting for a triangle, but the one's that are willing to fork up the cash are always more then pleased with the snipers for the same reasons you mentioned. I had a guy tonight went on for almost an hour about how much he likes them, how consistent they are, how well It holds the crown, and no mushroom, something he has never seen in a tip. Every time i see him He goes into the same conversation. Funny thing, he used a moori hard before, complete opposite tip, but says he'll never go back.
I change My personal tips out too, but mainly so i can test what I install and have better knowledge of what My customers can expect, but I played with one of the snipers for a while, and It greatly improved My consistency and run out percentage.
The guy tonight also says that on those slight masse shots and shots where you have to transfer the english to squeeze the object ball around another ball to pocket them that It almost feels like he's shooting them straight on due to the amount of control he has with the tip. That is something I remember liking about them too. It also saved me from having to kick at the ball in some of the more severe situations, and helped keep the run alive. I'm about to go back to one again Myself. He's not a pro, only a 7 in APA, but maybe on a good day, and we shoot about the same speed, and both noticed these things. I still play those type shots over a kick when I feel comfortable with them, but My consistency on them was much higher with that tip.
I have been noticing a large shift in the number of players going to softer tips this past year. I have also installed, and been told that many of the pros and top regional players in this area have been going to moori softs. I would bet if they gave the snipers a try that some of them may like them. There is an adjustment period, but after that It opens things up, and they are very low maintenance. One of the lowest I have seen. This coming from someone that has not been a fan of softer tips in My earlier years.
