I just watched Steve Davis in the Mosconi Cup. As I look at him & Allison Fischer... I can't help but wonder how pool players could help their learning curves with drills on the pool table. Suggestions?

Any practise drill will help your pool game! But, what will help you in any cue sport is being able to get the cueball to go where you are aiming.
So, put a ball on the blue spot and the cue ball on the baulk line in a straight line. All you have to do is make the ball in the corner, dead straight no english. You'll be amazed how hard it is just to make a straight shot like that on a snooker table. Any flaw in your technique will show up.

You are quite correct. As the flaws showed up, the habit of using maximum concentration on all shots was reinforced. Traversing all that green & sinking pool balls in those smaller pockets reduced my anxiety with longer shots on the pool table.

Keep the suggestions coming.

Practice running off the colours from their spots.

If are able to accomplish this, start playing position on the black so that you can get on the yellow, then start again.
