So, I was on my phone talking to a friend of mine to see if we were playing some "Straight pool" tonight. Every Friday at 7 pm, my friend and I play some straight pool at our local pool hall. Anyways, a lady that overheard the phone conversation became very offended and when I hung up the phone she says "You are what is wrong with this country with your homophobic attitude" and basically called me a homophobic redneck. She then asked, "why gay people couldnt have a pool game?"

This is no lie and happened about 20 minutes ago. I am still cracking up. I was speechless and didnt have a good comeback like I usually do when someone makes an ass of themselves.

Straight pool is now 14.1

That is something. I just heard about this terminology maybe two years ago. Using the tern (straight pool) is a gay thing b/c there are gay pool leagues and they are supposedly listed as straight pool leagues. I always thought that being straight meant that one is not gay. I don't understand why straight pool means gay... in this case. Growing up in the 60's in NY when speaking of 14.1, everyone only said straight pool. & not 14.1. No one used the tern 14.1. Now b/c of this terminology problem one must say 14.1. If I would of knew this information when I sighed up for AZ back when I did. I most likely would not have chosen the call name that I did. I might need to change that name....

Lots of politcally incorrect things you could have said :grin-square:

A couple of years ago I received an invite to join the local Gay Pool league. Without thinking, I said "Mondays?, I'll miss out on playing Straight Pool with Danny Barouty".
