Are you going to spectate/browse or are you going to play in anything? If you area cuemaker/reseller, going to have a booth?

I'm trying to see if I can work out a few logistics just to go and spectate, as well as meet a few people, but it's up in the air right now.

I'm sure it'll be an experience regardless!

Hopefully I can make it there on the weekend. I plan on hitching a ride in from NYC for some cue trading/shopping. It would be nice to meet up with some of the people on the forum.

I wished it was close enough for me to drive, I'm currently looking into what flights are when... :(

I'll be there to browse, buy (I hope), observe the "pit", and play in the seniors amatuer event (for a short while).
I'm staying at the hotel that's attached to the convention center, I forget it's name and I'm not going to bother looking it up.
Hope to meet some of you I haven't before there.

I think we should set up an AZB Party/get together. We will need to know when all are playing. I would think later ion the evening at the bar in thr Raddision would be cool. What does everyone else think?

Oh, I'd be down for that.... Anyone know if Earthquake will be there? That would make for a spectacle!!

How far away is the convention center from the Philly airport? Wiser to rent a car or take a cab?

I still don't know which hotel I'm staying at, gotta check the points that I have.

I'll be there from Friday thru Monday. I'm staying at the McIntosh aka Holiday Inn Express. I'll be spectating and hanging with friends.

I was going to play but decided the $$ would probably be better spent at the show. So I'm going to spectate. I'll be staying with my daughter and grandkids<G> who only live about 5 miles from the Expo. I'm available to get together just about any time.

Rent a car. Or if you're staying right at the Convention Center, go to Ground Transportation on the lower level of the airport and arrange for Rapid Rover to get you out there. It's $25 for the trip. A cab would cost you over $50.

At the Convention Center, there are two hotels, which are completely filled up.

Many folks last year stated they really enjoyed their stay at the Sheraton, only a couple of blocks away, because the beds were so comfortable.

There's a very economical place right up the street, and I can't remember the name. Maybe somebody on the forum can provide it. When you exit the main entrance, turn left and it's up the street a few blocks. The rooms were extremely clean, and each one was equipped with a full kitchen and living room area with a sofa, chairs, and coffee table, all for about 79 bucks a night.

Last year, we stayed at the Hilton, about a 7- or 8-minute drive from the Convention Center. It was 100 bucks a night and was fairly nice.

According to the Super Billiards Expo website, here's some hotel info:

"...Sheraton Park Ridge $99/night (610)337-1800
McIntosh Inn $90/night (610)768-9500
Main Stay $89/night (484)698-2000
Best Western $92/night (610)265-4500
The Hilton $100 (610)337-1200"

I'll be there!

I can't wait for the Expo.......I've been going for about 10+ years now. I'll be playing in the Amateur Open and hoping to at least get in the money this year...last two Expos I got no money  Last year I was up 2-0 on the custom cue case maker Dan Whitten in the first set and then amazingly he beat me 10 GAMES IN A ROW  I would have bet I couldn't lose 10 games in a row to Efren Reyes on a Diamond Smart Table with alternate break format. The really astounding fact is that I had to bank the 8 ball the length of the table in the first game to win AND I had to bank the 9 ball the length of the table in the second game to win (both times Dan tried to make the ball but missed and luckily left me safe with length of the table banks). However from there it was all down hill and believe it or not I did not miss very many balls. My break wasn't working terribly well......when he would break and make nothing I was always safe.....when he tried to make a ball and miss I would be safe, I would try to make a ball and break something out of a cluster and I would scratch and he would have an easy combo on the 9 etc. etc. etc. It was pretty much a nightmare. I'm not making excuses and I accept full responsibility but it was like THE TWILIGHT ZONE :D The 9-Ball gods were extremely cruel to me that day.......Dan told me after the match that he'd never seen such rotten luck.......maybe this year the tide will turn and I will be the one to receive some good breaks......

But I would like to meet some AZBilliards people there and say hi, have a couple of drinks etc.

If you want to find me, my real name is Bob Guzik and I always stay at the Sheraton which is attached to the Convention Center......me and three of my buddies will all be staying in one room.......drinking some beers, listening to some tunes, watching March Madness, trying to get either Efren's or Django's autograph on the butt of my $1,000 McDermott......if they are there this year!

PS: I get a little taste of some competitive pool this weekend as I'm playing in a 4 man team 8-Ball tournament in Youngstown, OH......but this tourney pales in comparison to the Super Billiards Expo.

That's a great idea. Will there be a designated meeting spot? I don't know what day I'll be going. I'll be there to "window shop" ;) and to check out "the pit." Hope to meet and place SNs to faces.

Cool! I can't wait! First beer is on me!

As for the hotel info, thanks, JAM!! I'm glad to know there is a Hilton in the near area, as that is where all of my points are. Extensive travel and points over the years = free hotel stays!

btw - this will be my first year to attend.

I'm taking Fri off of work and heading out there when I get off of work on Thur.... gonna be a great time as always! There's a night club on the floor level of the hotel attached to the center. (radisson I think). Quite a few of us went there last Fri & Sat. I've got a great pic at home that I'll post later this evening. Not sure yet where we're staying but as soon as I got back last yr I made a beeline to my supervisor to make sure I got that Fri off... it's too much fun to miss!
