So...... who stood out at Valley Forge?

I have never seen a man with radially laminated forearms, but I guess if it helps your pool game it's worth a try. :D

I think you missed the point, it is the cuemaker's forearms that are radially laminated and it obviously helps his cuemaking skills, not the player's.
Sheesh.

JoeyA (would have my forearms radially laminated if it would help my game)

Ken did have a nice table full of cues and all that were begging to go home with each person passing by. The Bender spoke the loudest I do believe. But it was the quiet whisper that caught my ear from a Bumper-less Hoppe cue by Gus. That was a gem.

Everyone had something that was worth mentioning and I will have to mention the vast number of Southwest’s that Cueaddicts had (Sean - that Hoppe cue by Barry was begging to come home with me) and Cornerstone had some of the best looking Black Boars I have ever laid my eyes on (of course Mark saw them, we had to clean up the drool each time he came close).

Great show and the cuemakers had their best out there for all to see. Loved them all and wish I could buy a few more to add to my modest collection.

Bill had to ask me TWICE to go get the mop and bucket in the janitor's closet. Had no idea just how many bodily functions I could lose control of at the same time!!! (ewwwwwwwww........).

Those Boars were REALLY sweet looking...and everyone that saw them thought they were gorgeous.

It was nice seeing everyone from AZ there, putting some faces with names I knew, and getting to meet new folks who are getting into custom cues. It is truly an addiction, that's hard to feed at times.

There was a ton of buzz about Andy and Vicki Gilbert at the show again this year, and now that it's over I'm sure he won't mind me posting a few pics that I've been sitting on. These are some crappy pics, and when I get a chance, I'll try to come back and post some better images later. But for now, it's catch up time at work and home...

A good buddy of mine that rode up with us from Chattanooga ended up purchasimng the snakewood "starburst" design shown in the first pic. I saw most everything there and IMO, that cue stole the show this year. It was his first attempt a cue of this design and done as an homage to Bill Schick (his hero). Although the ivory handle with floating inlaid points (everything wrapped in silver with over 20 ft of fine silver wire) was a standout as well. Andy sold virtually everything he brought exto the show. The other pics are some pre-completion images of a Titlist conversion that Andy did for me.

All in all, this year was a great show for seeing a variety of cues and it was SUPER to see Bill Schick elected to the ACA Hall of Fame. However, the bad weather definitely took it's toll (closing the airport), reduced the foot traffic, and caused many forfeits in the tournament.

Hopefully next year will be bigger and better !!

Sean
