So Why Do I Find Myself Looking at Meuccis?

The butt has an S warp.
Unrepairable.
I had an ancient Joss w the exact same problem. Went so far as to send it to Joss for suggestions. Stephen personally checked the cue and explained what the S warp was and how it will or won't affect play.

I really like my meucci with a 30 inch pro shaft. The hit is softer than most but very controlled. The hit is very smooth nice sound. Shaft doesn't feel hollow but it's def low deflection. I can still draw full table if I do my part. It's the cue I played the most matches with and it's the cheapest cue I got. I will probably upgrade to a casino butt I like the looks of it. Still some valid QC concerns just buy from Bob's daughter at budget and put in on a card via PayPal you will be protected if something goes down.
Contact Murph. He's a member in good standing and probably knows more about Meucci shafts than Meucci. Lol.
He's solid. You can trust him and I think he may still have a few for sale. I bought one. Excellent shaft. Very satisfied. Great guy to work with.

I bought a Meucci BMC casino last month after posting this. Some may hate the look and I get it- it could be a love it/ hate it deal. But I like it. And some others do too. Maybe those who hate it don't comment. Anyway, the quality seems to be there. I suppose time will tell. But it is straight and seems well-made to me. Excellent finish IMO. The Pro shaft I mentioned in the other thread too. I like it. Not what I remember of the Meucci '80's shafts but still soft and responsive. I like the hit and how it plays. I didn't have a Meucci from '88 until now, so I missed a few decades. This decade is so far so good.
Bought my grandson a Meucci last year. Nothing fancy, $800 dollar cue. Since buying it, the stain under the clear coat has run.
Thot it was my imagination at first, but you can clearly see where the colors at the end of the inlay points are running together in one spot!!
I guess it wasn't dried properly b4 applying clear coat.
Who knows. Only a small area and doesn't affect the hit and he loves the cue. No way would he agree to ship it back or be without it for the period of time necessary for repairs.
They'd probably just send him a replacement. Or not. He doesn't want to go thru all the hassle involved. Can't say I blame the little guy.
Don't get me wrong here, I like Meuccis.
There. I said it. Lol.
I don't play with one personally, but my mentor did, so I have a fondness for them. They aren't the same cues they once were, but looks like they're trying to get back to that quality. Good luck to them. Hate to see any company in the industry that long fail.
