Soccer versus Pool...

I was just watching the opening ceremony (recorded) to the FIFA world cup being held in Brazil.

They said that there are 20K professional soccer players in Brazil...

Compare that to 15 professional pool players in the US and you get an idea of how low pool has become as a sport in the US.

There probably aren't 5000 professional pool players in the world.

Yeah, but look at what they're shooting into......
...those things are BUCKETS!

how many professional badmitton players in the world ? how many professional bowlers in the world? It's all relative....

you are comparing the most popular sports on the planet to one of the least popular.... Personally, I don't really care about soccer at all ;)

That's right I forgot pool is a sport

Soccer or football as we call it here in Norway cannibalizes pretty much all the others sports (except winter sports, wich obviously is BIG in Norway...)
They get all the money, all the media coverage and all the atteintion from the politicians and others who have the big money.
I have never understood soccer, I think it`s a retarded sport for metrosexual douches!
We had Norwegian 9 ball championship here in Oslo two weeks ago - no article, no nothing in the papers about pool...

not a soccer fan, it's like team one pocket played on a grass field with less scoring.

At the end of the day. The only people who are in a position to level the playing field is us, THE POOL PLAYERS...

Get up a pool match that sells 60,000 tickets and it won't take long for pool to pick up pace.

If you added up the entire yearly prize money available for "professional" pool in the entire world (especially the "added" money which is really the only money being paid to the players) I doubt it adds up to what one world class soccer/football player makes in a month. I don't think it's even close, heck it might be more like a week.
By the way one is a sport...the other is a "past time". Walking indoors around a table (most often in a bar setting) isn't a "sport" at least in my opinion.
I doubt their are 15 pool players in the world that make more than your mailman. Note; I didn't say snooker.

Earl had a few choice words about soccer in Rogan interview! Ha

Nobody except Earl cares what Earl thinks. He's not "all there" so can't blame him for that. Nobody even knows who he is but hard core pool fans. He is funny though

BTW pool is something soccer players (or other athletes for that matter) play after they play soccer

One activity is a "sport" the other is a relaxing "past time". Walking indoors around a table isn't athletic event.

I remember hearing an update of some World Cup game the other day.
"0-0 in the 60th minute" WOW Riveting action!!!
