Society Billiards NYC - BCA 9ball League - 10k to first + 5k preseason freeroll

Hey guys,

This coming Fall, we're going to begin hosting leagues at Society Billiards & Bar. We're going to have two tiers for team competition. The first tier will be 8ball intended for beginner and intermediate players. Nobody will be turned away but there will be a limit to the number of strong players a team may use. Winners will win reimbursed airfare to Las Vegas, NV for the BCA Championships along with seasonal prizes in proportion to the size of the league.

The second tier will be Team 9ball. This is a cash league. The seasonal prizes will be in proportion to the size of the league but the Annual Grand Finale will be a guaranteed 10k Winner-Take-All event. All teams that participate in 2 of the 3 seasons will be automatically entered into the Grand Finale event. Teams that play in all three seasons will receive an automatic bye.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head with this.
 
This league sounds great. Amsterdam might be in trouble! $10k added is tooooo sweet.

So will it be like a free roll playoff, $10k thing? spread out over weeks? Or a grind it out weekend team tournament?

At the same time next year, all teams that have played in two or more seasons (3 seasons per year) will be entered into a winner-take-all tournament for 10k.
 
Bonjour Monsieur Rosenstock.

Is the 8 ball gonna be BCA sanctioned too? I think Mrs P would be curious about that.

We will also have BCA Sanctioned 8ball with reimbursed airfare to Las Vegas. However, it is a separate league. When you guys come by, I'll be happy to provide you with all of our league material.
 
$5K Freeroll @ Society Billiards & Bar

Society Billiards & Bar will be running a $5k freeroll prior to the start of the Fall season. All 9ball teams that are registered for the Fall by August 26 will automatically be entered into the event which will take place the weekend of August 28 & 29. This is a guaranteed amount and has no relation whatsoever to turn-out.

Its too bad thats the same weekend as the NYC 9ball Championship at Skyline.

Will this free roll be a team event or individual?

Rob, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We never had any intention of double-booking the date. It's bad for business (yours and ours) but most importantly, it's bad for pool.

We're going to announce new dates for our $5k Freeroll in the next 24 hours. People who are interested in playing in this event should go to our website and submit their email address (http://societybilliards.com/contact/) or you can subscribe to this thread for updates.

From the beginning, our intention as a company was to be an asset to the New York City pool scene, nothing less than that.

Because of the NYC Championships at Skyline Billiards, we have moved the dates of this event to September 18 & 19. All teams that are registered for the league by September 7 will be automatically entered into the freeroll. If you have any questions, please contact me at jude.rosenstock@societybilliards.com.
