solving a sticky sweaty wrap

i have a predator cue with leather wrap. temp in the pool hall stays about 80 deg most of the time. i have to wipe the wrap and my hands every few shots. do i even think about changing the wrap to linen or something else? is it something i do not want to even consider doing? does anyone else have the same problem? what wrap is the best? :confused:

Try doing as the carom players do and put a rubber sleeve on. At least it's cheap and removable.

And more importantly, that the cue [with carom rubber sleeve] will easily extract from the case as well. I had BIG issues with certain cases, where the rubber sleeve would grab and bind inside the tubes of the case, making cue extraction (at least the butt part) a formidable test of skill and patience. Ultimately, I had to fashion two "shoe horns" out of two Venetian Blind blades, and use them in "salad spoons" style to extract my carom rubber sleeve-wearing cut butt from its cylinder in the case.

I had to have long "cue socks" made (out of slippery nylon material) that I would first insert my carom-rubber-sleeve-wearing cue butt into, and then slip that inside the case. Removing it is much easier now -- just lift the cue sock up and out of the case, and once out, remove the cue butt from inside of it.

Wrap

Is the wrap original from Predator? I don't think they use real leather. You might check that out.
I think the best absorbing material is cork, but can get damaged easier than other wrap materials.
