Some advice on cue case

Hi everyone,

I was looking to getting some opinions on two cases. An Instroke leather case 2x4 or a 2x5 JB Ultimate rugged case. My buddy is looking forward to buying one but was stuck between theses two. I have never seen a JB case in person so i couldn't give him much info on it, I do have an Instroke 3x5 and love it because I can leave my cues inside the case as a holder for my cues and the tubes are not to tight where I have to actually pull them out. My buddy was wondering how tight are the inserts where the butt and shafts go? Does the case stand up by itself?
Anyone have both, and have a personal preference over the other? Advise and opinions would be most helpful. Thank you all.

The inserts are snug in the 2x5/3x4. The case will not stand up on its own. It will need some help. I have used my JB like this, but I wouldn't recommend it in any case. There is just too much that could go wrong.

I would recommend the Rugged over the Instroke because of protection and weight. The cues won't move in the Rugged compared to the Instroke and the pocket space is about the same.

Cue cases

I have the Instroke 3x7, heavy leather case ( I repair cues and some one is always handing one of there playing shafts to have repaired ). or I would not a bought such a large and heavy cue case).

A 2x3 or 2x5 case would work just fine Even a 2x2 I could get by with if it had large accessory pockets.
I never heard anyone complain about the JB Ultimate rugged case.
John Barton has a real passion for the game of pool and pool products
II have not heard of anyone who doesn't like the JB rugged case.

But around here some one would argue if water was wet or not.

I like my Vinyl Instroke case. Never had a problem with a zipper

not working right or a broken snap.

I have both but really prefer the 4x8 JB ultimate rugged to any case I have owned, small for a 4x8 best interior and yes it stand by its self very nicely . This case is really hard to beat. The instroke is more traditional and has a really good old world look . You won,t go wrong with either. Just my opinion.

I would go with the JB case.

I own 4 Instroke cases.....all not getting used any longer......two (2) hard leather 3x7 cases,
one (1) tooled hard leather 2x4 case, and one (1) soft leather 4x8 case. All four cases were
purchased brand new & used by me so I definitely am acquainted with Instroke cue cases.

The reason I do not use these cases is because Gil Castillo crafted me a beautiful 6x12 Lizard
(Cognac) Leather Cue Case....it is splendid and he just made my BF, Tommy Hill, a Cognac
Lizard leather 4x8 case that turned out great but of course, what else would you expect from Gil.
