Worked at a local pool in high school in the 90s and got to be a decent player. Run a rack of 9 ball every once in a while and pretty good at one pocket. Fast forward 15 years and I have played sporadically. Played at Chris's pool hall in Chicago every once in a while, but never owned a house or had room for a pool table. buying first house next week and has a basement! First item is a table and a cue update.
When I played in the 90s I had a basic muecci that I sold for 40 bucks when I was so poor i didn't have food money. Later bought a schmelke sneaky Pete for 100 or so that is okay, but slightly warped now and I didn't love quite as well.
Looking for some good suggestions for some small shops or custom makers that make a nice looking plain cue with a soft joint and hit. Maybe wood joint or plastic. Not a big fan of the "tink" of the steel joint. I like to hit soft and caress the cushions for position. Any suggestions??? Looking for 220-500 max?? Thanks all.
