Someone Loan Me $50,000 Right Away...Tom Cruise's Actual Cue For Sale on the Bay!

Did you contact eBay management? No?!! Why not?

Did you notify the seller that he is nUtZ?

I sent him a message. I explained to him that this cue was never even remotely related to The Color of Money. It's probably never even been in the same room as a DVD of TCOM. Aw, hell, here's the message I sent to him today:

"Is this some kind of joke? The actual cue Paul Newman's character gives Tom Cruise's character is a Joss JN07 model custom made to look like a George Balabushka Custom cue. It has four ebony points spliced into a maple forearm, a linen wrap, and mother of pearl inlays. Not once in the movie does Tom Cruise have a cue with transfer pictures of crabs and crustaceans on it. You may want to consider revising this auction before I report it for fraud."

He responded to me with this ...

"It was a mistake. It was bought at auction and Newman did put it up, but I see now it's not fr the movie. Ice pulled the listing"

Oh good, I'm glad "Ice" pulled the listing.

That post wasn't directed to you but to the person that seemed to think we are all morally corrupt.

Relax guys, the seller is obviously still in grade school, or at least his grammar indicates such.

....> And I'm not even a grammar Nazi (that's when you know it's bad)

the seller made a mistake and admits it. i'm sure that cue was auctioned off as "previously owned by spongebob squarepants".

edit - sorry brknrun, i just saw your spongebob post on page 1.

To this day no one does tropical fish inlays like Balabushka.

It's a little know fact that the topical fish inlays and/or the stickers in the forearms of George's cues were a trade mark from and actually built/glued by Gus Szamboti. That fact alone prompted me to bid above asking price.

I know all this stuff is funny...but have you ever thought what would happen if..."if" someone actually bought the cue? who would get the last laugh? if the cue isn't the real thing from the movie? the buyer will get scammed and we as pool players of this great nation will allow this action unchecked... we are going to get an unsuspecting stranger get hustled for a cue............

ol well as long as it's not us spending 50k right?

i'm pretty sure no one would just ante up 50k without trying to at least do a little homework. and if they did shame on them for being so foolish with that much money. for a short time i sold private equity investments and i know from experience that getting ten grand out of people worth a mil plus is almost impossible if they don't know you. no matter what kind of research you can give them. so i'm going to say that most people with 50k in thier pocket aren't buying a cue on ebay sight unseen if they don't know sqaut about pool cues and can't meet the seller face to face and examine the property before making final payment. once again shame on them if they do and, if they do, we most certainly get to laugh at them.

What makes you think it's worth $50K?

I got news for you. That's a decal import cue. I don't care who had their hands on it.

you're being sarcastic, yes? i am pretty sure you have to be. no one thinks that p.o.s is worth 50k it's just something to laugh at.
