I dogged your pool hall out a couple of years because I was kicked out of the Player's area in the back two days after I had won your handicapped tourney. I am active duty Navy, there for two weeks on Temporary Duty Assignment (TAD) orders. You addressed my numerous posts. I must apoligize to you, your family and your workers for my words. It is known to all in the Navy that Norfolkians don't exactly embrace Sailors, but you have, for many years. I went there a couple of years later and was treated great, simply because I was Military. For pool, you countinually put your entire being into your U.S. Open. I just felt that I needed to tell this forum that I was treated, well frankly, the best I have ever been treated in any pool hall in America. I consider my victory at your simple weekly handicapped one of my greatest. Your pool room is the Yankee Stadium of American pool halls. I have been in Oak Park Cue in Detroit, Shooters in Olathe and Starcade in Ft. Walton Beach but QMaster is the best pool room I have ever seen (Pockets in Lansing was pretty close in the 1990's). I first went to the U.S. Open in 1992, I was 17 and mulleted at the time and it was the coolest thing ever to me. Sorry for what I wrote a couple of years earlier. it wasn't the proper presentation of your big picture.

I faintly remember that thread (that's sad in itself, that I would retain a thread from 2 years ago:D) but here is the thread he is referencing, so you can put it in perspective.

Glad to know you worked it all out.

I'm a local and they booted me out of there too. I played there for three years once or twice a week, but after I had my first son I stopped for a few months out of necessity. Once I TRIED to start going there again (not in the league) they said I wasn't allowed in the tournament room. They have to keep it reserved for money players so they can keep that sort of thing separated from the "fun" main area. It's no secret... there's no gambling allowed, but if any pool hall owner actually banned gambling they would lose a lot of business. I don't gamble, so I somewhat understand they need to reserve that area to let the boys play, but not when I get there at 10:30am to play a race to 60 9-ball lol. We'll be done WAY before any money-players show up. I would happily move to a table in the front if some money players showed up and I was on the last available table in the back.

It's a good policy to keep gambling separated from the regular "family-friendly" side, but it needs to have some common sense factored in before it gets applied. I want the best tables and best balls, and if you don't let me in the tournament room 9 hours before a tournament, I'll find that elsewhere.

I know they won't miss my business, but I definitely miss those diamonds with tourney blue simonis 860HR :) I would happily drive 45 minutes to play there if I had access... but if they're forcing me to play in the main room, I can get tables and balls of that quality 7 minutes from my house.

iwilleatyou...If you really want to see and experience the best pool room in America, you must go to Fargo Billiards in Fargo ND. Easily 10x better than QMasters, and of course, much better than any of the rooms you mentioned.
