SOTU: CSI Changing Guard - Mosconi's Elephant in the Room

KK9, I agree. There has to be a starting point. I think this could be it.

But the promoters won't!

Look at the prominent US promoters, one by one (and I may get shot for this):

- Griffin: claims to want to work w/ all to offer a fair playing ground for pros
- Sullivan: pulls his weight, talks a good game but is ADDish
- Badi: has tons of $ and passion, but the patience of a flea
- You, Mr Cantrill: have all the passion, but not enough voice or money
- Hearn: Has too many irons in the fire to want to F with US pool big time
- Zuglan: he can be a stubborn SOB
- TAR: Recognizes the discord, and chooses to present us w/ a piece of champions
- Chiborak: Need I comment?

These are my nutshell observations. I am convinced this fragmented set of differing personalities are p1ssing into a stiff wind, unless and until, there's unity. But WTF do I know.

So people booking $20,000 or less a year (that's just a wild, unsupported guess) are supposed to spend their time making themselves available for free playing tips and autographs for 50 years to save pool? That makes ZERO sense to me. Which is exactly why you don't usually see them doing those things.

No they aren't supposed to do it to save pool. They are supposed to do those things (among others) to build their brand. To sell themselves and their talents. This in turn draws more attention for themselves and for pool in general. Just as an example very few pro players have twitter accounts and the ones that do don't use it in a way that is beneficial like interacting with fans, tweeting daily, tweeting about pool etc. What pros that are on facebook (yesterday's news in the social media world) seem to mostly only have personal pages instead of fan pages that people can like and interact with. For example the most popular and talent American player, SVB, only has a personal facebook page where he only shares most information with his friends. I don't blame him for wanting to have regular page like most people, but he should have a fan page too where he can post pool stuff, what he's doing at tournaments, practice etc.
