i was watching the tape i have of the finals of the 2002 U.S. Open between Ralf Souquet and Alex Pagulayan. the score was around 9-8 in favor of Ralf when Alex had taken on a difficult shot. he jarred the '5' in the corner, and left Ralf with this layout.

so, Ralf proceeds to play the shot as the lines indicate, and pretty much snookers himself behind the '9' Ball, around Point A. i thought to myself, he had all that room to get a shot on the '6' and yet he snookers himself. Sigel, Incardona, and Wych (sp) made a similar comment as well.

guess it just goes to show you that even the best players in the world mess up what would seem to be somewhat easy shots for them. perhaps the pressure of the U.S. Open got to Ralf momentarily here - who knows..........

Your avatar is freaking me out. Makes my head feel small...

So, what did Ralf do? Did he get out the Sledgehammer and proceed to runnin out?

I think ...

that I saw that match on TV, and if I remember right, Ralf tried to pocket the 6 in the corner kicking at it with inside english, but missed, and yes Alex got out.
