South West Sales Conversion Rate?

Go buy a Craftmaster sofa & a Furniture Fair in-store sofa and write a review in a few years. There's a wait on Craftmaster but not on the in-store Furniture Fair sofa. Not 10 years wait, but same principal.
Not really. Not much,if any difference, in a SW and any other top maker's stuff. Big difference in furniture quality. Used to sell the stuff and had folks from High Point school me on the differences. A lot of SW appeal is name and 'aura' for lack of a better term. I've only hit one, a Franklin pre-date, that i thought was kinda special. I just don't get the cult appeal or the wait.

They build a quality product and I have never heard anything negative about Mrs. Franklin. Sometimes we yearn for something because it is hard to obtain. In our instant gratification society owning something somewhat rare comes with a level of pride of ownership. It also comes at a hefty price adding to the somewhat exclusive "Southwest Club" aura. IMHO. I don't fault anyone for having the desire, patience, and money they want to dedicate to acquiring one.
I don't own one in my modest cue collection. In general my taste runs in a different direction.

What percentage of people who put their name on the list would you guess actually end up ordering a cue and keeping it? if the list is about 12-15 years long now and the most recent sales price for a new cue I’ve seen here on AZ is 7k w 2 shafts, what do you imagine the quoted price would of been 12-15 years ago when getting on the list? Do you think the sticker shock at purchase time may cause someone who waited all that time to not order?

They do make some beautiful cues if you like that type of style. They have a signature look that is often imitated. The darker woods with the 'ghost' points are quite beautiful.

Not sure about the percentages of actually keeping it. I may not like something 18 months later after the build is finish. I can only imagine 12-15 years. LOL

Quoted price should be the market price of the time. It would be wrong to quote cost 10-15 years ahead. I'm thinking a a cue would cost 3-4k in 2012.

In my opinion it is a split. Owners may be underwhelmed by the cue when it finally arrives and decide to sell it. Some may keep it considering it took a chunk of their lifetime to obtain.

I requested to be on their waitlist in 2007. I only did it to see if I get a response. Will I get a surprise phone call one day? I have already consider the request to be lost or ignored. LOL

Well, if I get a phone call then I will let you guys know.

My guess is you will get a call in the next 18 months, be prepared. I think you can check with Laurie also.

I consider SW to be an old man's cue. Why? Simple. You become an old man when you finally get it.

While your friends have passed away or moved away, you will be lonely holding and shooting this SW cue that nobody knows about. Alone with the SW. A tragedy that you can't share it with others.

ROFL

Was Alex Brick your partner? One of my biggest regrets is that we discussed replacing a SS Schon joint w an ivory joint and I was unable to put the cash together at the time. He mentioned he had done quite a few of them and somebody told me he was somewhat known for it. I always thought his break cues were his specialty prior to the fire. When I talked to him he never mentioned he made playing cues. He was extremely nice and took plenty of his time discussing the joint conversion w me. RIP

Yes, I was "silent" because i found the manner in which cue pimps shilled cues distasteful and i didn't want to be that guy when it came to his cues

We were friends for many years before we became partners and that's what i miss the most about him

Being honest to a fault was one of his many qualities
