I'm wondering if the entire list of players is on the website under scheduled matches. It didn't have a number at the top so I scrolled through and I only see 84 players. Could that be? I thought traditionally 9 ball got more players than the banks and 1 pocket.

Does anyone know how many players registered for 9 ball?
 
Yes, that is the sight I've been using all week. Do you see total entrants on there somewhere that I'm not looking?
 
Why so few?

Ok, so 1st round is over and I counted 82 players in the results section. Just seems way low to me. Anyone else think this is a low number for this event?

I thought the Ultimate 10 ball right before the Southern Classic was a perfect storm for many pool players. Seems like the banks and 1p had decent turnouts.

Is it the longer race to 9 that made short stops feel they had no chance? Was the DCC 9 ball numbers low this year as well? I believe this was the 1st year they changed to race to 9.

And NO, I don't believe Bonus Ball is the big culprit. That may have added another 20-40 players maybe, but I thought they traditionally got 200+ in the 9 ball.
