How Many?

How many player will it take too put this tournament on!

The question is how many to make it successful. There are already enough to have it but we need more to make it successful.

I'll check with Tabor about your entry catagory

If you wait until next week to make up your mind....I can't say what will happen. The deadline to enter is this Friday. I beleive the determination will be made on Saturday or Monday whether there are enough entries to warrant having the Diamond tables brought in from Vegas.

I can say with a few degrees of certainty that if the tables from Vegas are not brought in....there is a backup plan. This tournament will not be cancelled if at all possible.

If the tournament is not as advertised, I reserve the right to ask for a refund to my sponsors. FYI.

I agree 100% with Ray!

I would like to know what this back-up plan consist of, because I may or may not wish to participate. I truly hope the tournament goes as planed for all concerned. If in case this doesn't happen, then I think we have the right to withdraw and get a complete refund.

Good luck,

I too would like to know about this "backup" plan. I am looking at about a 4 hour drive plus hotel plus all the entry fees. The reason I am wanting to play is because of those diamond bar tables. I am not willing to commit financially to a tournament that may or may not happen. Just my 2 cents.

I am fine with whatever is the back up plan - I appreciate that there IS a backup plan and they are still accommodating the players!

Tell them thanks from me, Steve. I hadn't even thought of a back up plan as an option - Good idea!!!

Back Up Plan Announced

I have just finished talking with the TD and the backup plan is no longer the backup plan.

Due to the number of entries needed to make it financially feasible to bring in a truck of Diamond tables from Las Vegas (100-125 Singles and at least 40-48 Scotch Teams), as you can see from the entries listed so far....that is not going to happen :sorry:

The Green Room in Temple TX has agreed to host the tournament. This pool room just opened 10 days ago with new Diamond bar boxes (Green felt)

I played a tourney there last weekend and these tables are the nuts. They are faster than the usual tables that are brought in from Vegas. The 9 Foot Diamonds he has are awesome.

It's very clean and nice, with 3 smoke eaters. The alcohol permit is still under review so at this time it is BYOB :D

That is subject to change between now and next Friday

The Green Room, Temple Texas
2314 S. 57th St
254-770-3000

PS...This is just about 1/2 mile east of I-35

I understand

Hey Joe,

I understand your position. Luckily I live here but if I had to drive up to your area I'd feel the same way.

This tournament will be a go and these tables are beautiful

Larry Norman of Norman Custom Cues is part owner and he is a good guy. He is doing this for the players because he is all about pool as was his father who owned a hall back in the day.

Hope to see you there

I agree

Yes sir, you have a valid point and I agree with you.

I hope after reading what solution has been worked out you'll come down.

These tables are some of the best bar boxes I ever played
