I've done a number of transactions with Joe Nielsen and I have to agree with everything you said. He is one of the best persons in the pool world I know. Unfortunately, he got only SW cues with maple forearm. So I have to pass.

May I make a humble sugestion. You might get a cue that will work to your exact specifications from Pete Ohman of Omen Cues. I picked two up recently and love the way they play. Real close to the same feel and hit of a SW at 1/3 of the cost. This might get you through until you find that perfect SW. Check out a few pictures of mine and let me know what you think friend.

I have spoken with Mr. Malott on several occasions inquiring about the purchase of a South West cue. Each conversion took approximately 30-45 mins in length and he provided me with vast amount of information. He never pressured me or was rude in anyway shape or form when addressing my questions. Whether his cues are high or low is irrelevant, they are his and he has every right to sale his merchandise at the price he feels to make and appropriate profit on his initial investment. If you don't like his prices, then don't by, simple enough. Just my opinion.
