SouthWest Cue order update

I just got a reply to my e-mail to Laurie Franklin requesting an order status update.

She is very nice and responsive, but gave me some bad news. She informed me that they have just started on orders from 1998! I have 4 more years to wait, since I ordered in 2002.

I am still thinking about what design to get on the cues and any suggestions would be appreciated.

My Hercek may arrive before my two SouthWests!

Hopefully I have my name on the "list". They took my name, address and phone #. No receipt or confirmation.

Is this the common practice?

As for ideas. Start with 6 even points. I don't think that I have even seen a SW with even points.

Laurie should have sent you a confirmation by emailing you a general response with a current price list attached. That would basically confirm they have your order. You should/could email Laurie to confirm they have you down. As for the 6 even points, I'm not sure thats an option and they would probably charge extra for it if they did it. I have too many years to wait, but I'm patient.

waiting

I ordered mine in 2001. As far as 6 even points- I believe that one is pictured on the cover of Blue Book of Cues 1st Edition. It also has a BEM handle.

How many cues does SW produce per year? I thought the blue book said around 250 is that right? With an 8 year wait, that is 2,000 more into the market.

Can they maintain their high market values or does it all come down to Economics 101 - Supply/Demand?

I ordered mine in 2003. Only a few more years.. My friend ordered his in late 97 and he is expercted to get it next month.
