I like the colors best in the top one, only I like the wood best in the bottom one...IF both forend and the Butt were of that beauitiful BEM...

Just my opinion, of course...

Top cue modified

I would choose the top cue and eliminate the birdseye part of the butt sleeve. I have never liked that look with the 2 different wood types in the butt section. I realize that is Southwest trademark look but it is not for me.

Thanks

Kevin

Bottom cue

My vote would be the bottom cue. Those red veneers are just gorgeous to me.

Just my .2 cents

Sw

I liked the one 1pRoscoe had on here. Wish he would have been able to raffle it. Maybe one like his, but with cocobola instead of ebony.

Isn't life interesting ? I like the bottom cue better, but really it's your personal preference.

Here's something to consider. Many knowledgeable players have realized that they play better with a forward weighted cue. Of course, you can make any cue balance that way, but the dynamics may not be right. If you listened to Ernie from Ginacue in the TAR interview he talks about making a cue with an ebony front for the great Ed Kelly, and how it improved his game because of the forward weighted characteristics. I would say that Ernie Gutierrez knows a little something about the subject !
If I had one chance to get a SW made to order I think I would have an ebony forend with something like cocobolo and BEM points with complimentary veneers and ringwork at every position. Whatever you choose I know you will either have a cue of a lifetime or at the very least you can make a few bucks. Good luck...Tom

I'd be in love with the top one if the butt matched the points....

If you're set on a BEM butt, then I'd go with number 2.

Both are great looking cues, but I'm more partial to Cocobolo and burl, although the ebony points is classic and looks good.....

Get one of each!lol

I would go with a little more contrast in the woods.
BEM into Cocobola, Ebony into Tulipwood, etc.
Not only would it make the cue much more dramatic, but it would increase the value on the used market.
I like the green, turquoise, natural, or blue veneers with the dark woods.

Also, no black butt caps or joints.

Wait, you ordered this cue in 2000?? is that how long it takes to get a SW cue??

Hey guys thanks for the help. I finaly pulled the trigger and decided to go ahead and order the bottom cue. My next question is on the second cue, would you leave it white with black spec wrap or would you make it black with white spec? I cant decide any input you guys could give me would be a big help. Thanks
