Southwest cue quandry

I am due to get my Southwest that I ordered in 6-99 fairly soon. After seeing what new, unchalked Southwests are selling for, I am very tempted to sell it.

I see that they are selling for $2500 or so on Fleabay for cues with the 6points and all the the rings.

I do have another order in place that I am about 2yrs or less from getting.

Should I sell? Is that FleaBay price about right?

Depends on the woods and forearm. If it is an ebony forearm, they tend to fetch more I have noticed. Also depends on the weight of the cue, the closer to 19, the more it will bring as well. I would say 2500 is a bit high unless it does meet those two requirements.

Totally your call...if you are a patient person, then I say sell it and take the profit and roll into your next one, otherwise hit it and play with it and if you like it, then keep it and sell the second one, or better yet...keep em both.

Another important thing, which others have stated as well, is the size / diameter of the shafts. If they are 13MM or more you will do just fine.

Something to think about, if this is your first new South West you may want to keep it, there is only "the one first" South West. After all that waiting and then sell it, hell you could play with that cue and keep it for years and still make money on the cue. So why not keep it?

South West ( 2 words)

Just a thought.

I agree with everything you said. Except SouthWest is one word.

Hello Andy,
I glad you noticed that I spelled "South West" incorrectly..you may want to send an email to "South West" and let them know that they have been spelling their name wrong for about 20 years. They will have to change their biz cards, letter head, COA, invoices, bank accounts,Fed ID change etc. Keep up the good work. :)

My bad I checked with Laurie and it is spelled South West. Just because you were right it still doesn't give you the right to be a f***ing dick.

Andy, I think you took that a little too serious, I see you can spell swear words correctly... no need to get that bent out of shape. I was kidding around, you have my apology.:)

How can you even think about selling it before you hit balls with it?

I notice that the sell for more that way.

Plus if I hit with it, I might get to fond of it.

But it all moot anyways, I just talked to Laurie and she is just starting cues in 1998. I have another 1.5yrs to wait.

Well yes, but I have aquired many nice cues (see the for sale/wanted section)

I dont play to much anymore and I am more into building up my shop to make more of my own. (thats the reason I am selling some)

So I would sell it, take my profit and re invest it into more machinery and tools

Ah, that make sense. I did not know that you were into making your own. Anyways I have a ebony nose SW that hits like the hand of God. It will never be for sale for any price.

your a tease...

I used to help make them and I am now currently building up my shop. If you go to my thread on the for sale/ wanted, you can get to my photo albums to see the cues and the lathe I am starting with.

South West or Southwest or SouthWest or South-West or south-west

You might want to consider that friends will bid up an item on FleaBay or flea-bay and the item might not actual go anywhere.

If you are pullling in seven (7) digits a year, then you should just buy and not consider selling anything. Shoot with a different cue every day of the week.

If you just want to make a little dust for your wait and trouble, then sell the cue and get back in line for another. In ten (10) years, you might have enough for a free cue for yourself.

;)

Isn't that the point of having a nice cue?

this is what happens with cue "collectibles". they may play great but people buy them with the thought of possible resale instead of enjoying the work that was painstakingly done for them.
