Southwest modified by RJH Custom Cues,Brooklyn Nyc

I got this cue from Vic Stein at Blatt's in NYC and i love it. I asked Richard Hsu of RJH Cues to change a few things and now it is perfect for me.

Richard wrapped it with a Ring Lizard and added an Ivory Joint and Butt Cap. Then he lengthened the taper of each shaft and added Ivory Ferrels and

soft Sniper tips. He is a Master Craftsman and an honest worker. I highly recommend Richard and endorse his work.

I read the title and thought, "You are crazy." But after seeing the pictures I love the added ivory. Great looking cue.

I am sticking with "you are crazy", after all its a SOUTH WEST, but I respect your right to do what you want with what you own. Enjoy.

I don't think you can now call this cue a South West cue. Once you change the items you changed the identity of the cue is forever altered.

I have had Richard Hsu put a ring-tail lizard wrap on a cue of one of my friends. His work is flawless, the wrap he used is AAA+ in quality and what is more is that his prices were very reasonable. Good communication topped off my experiences with him.

Your SW came out beautiful, however I surely would have had a few nights without a minute of sleep when thinking about whether to have all these done to an SW...

...was it an easy decision? (maybe a stupid question, but I am curious how and where did this idea come from)

Nice cue!

I agree Richard does great work. Beyond the work though, he is extremely friendly and honest. I am still amazed at how nicely I was treated. Jim

Nice cue!

Good question. I am not a collector. I bought this cue for playing and i have no intention of selling it so Richard did his magic and i am very happy with the hit and feel. It was very nice as it came but i felt a few simple changes would make it better for my game. The shafts have been tapered way back for a less stiff feel and the soft Sniper Tips are excellent. The Joint now is crisper for lack of a better word and the Butt Cap is for looks but never touches the floor. It resembles a cue i saw in the 1960's. I don't know the maker but it was boss and i remember the owner telling me it he waited a whole month for it.
I tried a Predator cue and it was like playing with a steel rod. I understand many people like the feel but i prefer the soft
touch. Viva la difference. Thanks to Richard for this wonderful toy.

Mike,

Nice looking cue. Do you have any better shots of the forearm of the cue? It looks like tulipwood/alves, but the first pic is a little too small to see the effect of the rings and veneers.
