i concur... you have to shoot with a southwest to see if you like the feel .. have played with several and have not enjoyed any so far.. completely "thunkers" .. i hit the jackpot with this one, though... fortunately !

think it's gonna be in my daily case for a while now :)

Sounds like you might have owned mine or one like it. Mine has the big open pin. I also have a plain Birdseye, same year with the same pin.

Well i seen 2 in September,one was a sneaky with 2 shafts for around $1400 and the other was a 4 pointer with veneers and wrap with 3 shafts for $2500 or best offer so they can be found,just got to look hard and be patient.I saw a SW 6 point cue in very nice shape sell for $1500 last year,now thats a deal.
