Southwest

yea and everyone else ..most of them start a 3k +++ if they will even sell them..been looking for one for over 5 yrs ...

Yep i have been looking for one for almost a year now.. good luck man, start looking into other customs, its hard to get that. and i hear ya on wrapless, the best.

Guys, if you want a wrap less SW that bad....why not just have someone refinish a regular SW and cover the linen wrap like a meucci cue? I would imagine that would give you the feel of a wrap less cue. It's like having your cake and eating it too, a wrap cue without a wrap :) :).

Are you for real?
Do you really think it is the same thing?
I think that your post was a joke and I hope I am right... Geeeeezzzz...

Wasn't Joking...just thought it would be a nice solution since the player that like the wrap less cue just like the fact that it has finish all the way through the butt. I'm sure the wrap less cue with exotic handle may have a difference in playability but I don't think the exotic handle wood would play any better or worse than a regular SW. So if the only variable is that they like the butt completely finished, I think my solution would make sense for some who doesn't consider the wrapless for look but more to suit their playing requirement. Heck, this was a solution from meucci so figure this would work for some of the SW cues. Wonder if SW, would refinish my SW with the finish over the Irish linen wrap. So, all you have to do is get a refinish from SW to upgrade your cue to a wrap less cue:).

Unfortunately....the solution may sound logical but I can assure it is not. and Using Meucci and SW in the same sentence in terms of value is almost sacreligious for the majority of people who have or are looking sw cues.

Those who are in the market for sw cues hold the value and playability of sw cues in mind when deciding to pay for the sw prices.

To finish over the linen wrap is not an option for Laurie and South West as it differs with 3 major issues:

1) they will not and won't ever wanted to be associated with Meucci or Meucci type cues. *not that Meucci hasn't built quality cues...it's just not in the same market.

2) wrapless cues have a tone quality differently than cues with linen with finish sprayed over them.

3)Having a wrapless handle is an additional option that SW receives revenue for. Like any company they not going to take away food from their own mouths.

Spraying a finish over linen is just a simple way of cutting corners to get a wrapless. It maybe worth a try but in the end you're better off buying a true wrapless cue.

Totally agreed with everything you said. Thought it would be a cool option for some who can't get one right now due to the extremely low supply of a wrapless SW. I have a SW that I might sent out to proficient to have done, figure worst case, I can get the cue re-wrapped.

Duc.

The only good that could come from a Meucci-like wrap on a SW would be bringing their prices down quite a bit :p

I don't understand. There were some wrapless SWs for sale a while back. Probably you just can't pay the right price.

So lets take a $3k+ cue and clear coat over the wrap? Too much

Hey,

Why not, if you need a wrap less South West cue. I don't see anything wrong with having the finish over linen, just an extra 45.00 from proficient to have this done. Not like you're going to lose 3K from doing this or that it will take away anything from the cue. Also it will cost you only $60 to have the linen restored if you ever want too. If anything, it will have the look of a regular SW and it's wrap less. My point is that this could be a good option for many players who want but can't find a wrap less SW. Just buy any SW with linen which will be cheaper (2K+) and spend $120 to have the cue completely refinish to a wrap less cue.

I agree with you Duc. Nothing wrong with your suggestion. Like you said if it doesn't work, just have it re-wrapped.
