I was under the impression that southwest cues were rather expensive. That site is selling them for 200 bucks each? Or am I misreading something here?

Pretty sure it's saying you get a free case, valued at $200, with your purchase of a SW cue.

Prices are not listed. You have to ask. Each cue is shipped in a GTF case that retails for $200.

I did email Roy and ask some time ago and the prices I got from him were outrageous $3,800-$3,900 and some of these SW did not even have all the rings either...lol

I know you are being as nice as you can and I appreciate it. The fact is that the price of SouthWest cues is arbitrary and has really nothing to do with the cost of making them. It's a pure supply and demand thing.

Supply is LOW. Demand is high. Thus prices are high. Southwests offered for sale in China are routinely offered for prices that exceed Roy's, often for USED ones.

Roy invests in SouthWest cues and holds onto them until a buyer comes along. Anyone who dabbles in SouthWests knows that there is not a lot of money to be made on these cues. People sell them at high prices and people like Roy sell them at higher prices.

On the whole planet there are never more than about 20 NEW SouthWest cues offered for public sale at any one time. Chady Liu has some, Roy has 7 down from 15, Lucky in Japan has some, Vince's aren't publicly offered.

Cues For Christ just posted that you shouldn't even consider offering him less than $3000 for one that he expects to get before Christmas sight unseen.

So the fact is that if a person WANTS a SouthWest then the pickings are SLIM and the prices are HIGH.

Roy Mallot invests a lot of money into being able to offer brand new SouthWest cues on demand. Are any of the other dealers here willing to invest that much cash into these cues? The way Roy gets these cues is that he pays premium money. He has only turned down about five SW cues in 18 years of being in business. Typically the person who sells a brand new SW cue to Roy makes more money on it than Roy will make when he sells it.

Roy currently has 10 BRAND NEW SouthWest cues in stock and 2 others that are in 99.5% of mint condition. For Roy this means that the cue was lightly test hit by the original owner before Roy got it. IF Roy were to clean the tip then you would not know that the cue had ever hit a ball.

So no one has the right to tell Roy what he is allowed to charge. The cues are his property and he buys and sells more SouthWests than all other cue dealers combined, with the exception of Vince Tedesco and Laurie Franklin. I'd bet very high on that.

And Roy can be rude sometimes but he is honest and delivers what he says he will.

So if you are looking for a SouthWest IndyQShop is definitely one place to start.
