Maybe what he was trying to tell you was "So let the ball pass on the short angle" by using certain English.

Soleta could be so let.

3 is not a Spanish word.

Cabaña means CABIN in spanish, cabaña shots resembles the triangular ROOF of a cabin.

Pasabola is when you hit the cushion first before hitting the first ball, and then you hit the cushion again. It's called also TIKI.

Soleta MIGHT BE the cue tip (like SUELA), but never heard that word before

(I'm not mexican and never been to Mexico).

He's using the TIP's diameter as a measure unit (one tip above from the center)
