Super instructional video -- learned a lot -- thanks!

Thanks, Bud, and I just had a chance to watch your signature links ..... they are Hilarious!!!

When in doubt it's best to just do something different, that's what I wish the.......

CJ very nice to give it away. I will tell anyone; I've been to CJ's place and did lessons. It was worth alot more than I paid. The other threads that have back and forth banter going on really don't realize that CJ is an excellent teacher and by the way the boy can still shoot a little :) but being he is old is me he probably needs some weight before playing :) CJ hope your birthday was great and hope you had a great time. thanks for being a friend and an even better coach.. Ed from San Antonio

You are an exceptional student, usually it takes more than a few hours to jump up a couple notches, but you had an open mind. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance, I'm always available if you need to bounce any ideas off someone.

Improving in pool is kinda like improving in life, it's often the OPPOSITE of what we think it is and pool techniques are no different. When in doubt it's best to just do something different, that's what I wish the whole professional pool world would do.....something different, they've been trying the same old BS for the last 15 years to complete failure.

it's amazing everyone remembers this girl, she must have been a knock out

Happy birthday CJ. It doesn't seem that long ago when you at around 19, walked in the pool room in Cullman, with a very foxy girl. As you get older, time goes by faster and a year will go by and will seem like only a few months. Hope you many more to come, and success with everything you do.

That kept coming up when I visited Alabama the last time......"that foxy girl".

I wish I could remember who it was, now I'm curious. Was she a blond, brunette or red head? .....that was a LONG time ago, it's amazing everyone remembers this girl, she must have been a knock out. :D 'The Fox is the Teacher'

Sorry that I missed your B-Day CJ. Sounds like you had a wonderful day. Very nice of you to share all of your videos also. You are definitely one of a kind.

Also, my game is improving week by week. Thanks for that too. It's funny how something falls into place then I think, that's what CJ was talking about. I appreciate all that you do.

ultimately that's the only reason to play any game.

Hey there, Rick, I'm glad the last pieces are falling in place, you've improved faster than just about anyone I've seen......and to think you were on the verge of not playing anymore. The game is getting fun for me again, and ultimately that's the only reason to play any game.

It's time for the next level, I've been working on some really cool stuff that I'll share with you next time we get together. It's one of the final pieces for me in the "re building" process, before long the 15 ball ghost should be beatable.

Best Regards in Continued Success......'The Game is the Teacher'

CJ does this work with LD shafts as well as non LD? I either am not getting the point or my LD shaft is not deflecting as much as is needed.
Thanks for the freebie, I watched it a few times through!

CJ,

Happy belated Birthday friend.

The Sport of pool wouldn't be the same without your contributions.
I was fortunate to watch you warm up with the 15 ball ghost & run 2 racks consecutively, while in Alabama.
If you come to GA. look me up, I would enjoy a few stroke lessons.

Ty,
Michael Matsie

.it's vital at the highest levels, and it's obvious in all sports, not just pool.

Yes, it does, when cueing the ball inside you can also pivot back to center and create the angle as well. It's not all about deflection, it's about "moving" the cue ball consistently in the direct to "cut" the shot......overcutting consistently is better than undercutting and it's essential to predict one way or the other (under, or over cutting).

This way you can control which pocket you are favoring. Especially in One Pocket Banking you must favor a side of the pocket, and this is also true with regular ball pocketing.......this is where my '3 Part Pocket System' is so important to play at your highest level......in golf they don't aim at the center of the fairway, they favor one side and "work" the ball to the center, this is the same principle.

Creating margin of error is the best way to get "over the hump" to playing a better game of pool.....it's vital at the highest levels, and it's obvious in all sports, not just pool.

I'll take you up on that one of these days,

thanks, Michael, yes, playing the 15 ball ghost is the ultimate practice game for me, when I'm playing a lot I can beat the ghost more than 50% of the time as long as I can pick one ball off after the break.....I still have to run all the balls on the table though, and that's a tough proposition. I can do it for a solid hour or two, but sooner or later it gets too heavy to continue.

I'll take you up on that one of these days, we want to go to Atlanta for several reasons so maybe at that time.....send me your info at thegameistheteacher@gmail.com and I'll contact you with a week or two notice.
