now today i was down stairs and i was in dead stroke, you remember those days right. Everything i shot at went in so it felt like i was running around the table and in position where i thought the cueball would be before it even stopped and as soon as it stopped boom again, now this was after practicing my drills so i was playing eightball only i would throw all the balls on the table and get cueball in hand and from there i would shoot either solids or stripes and run those balls out then run the other half of balls out then shoot the eightball. It was fun, and i happen to notice i went through racks after racks very fast as i didn't make any clusters on the balls when throwing them out on the table. All 15 balls were gone in like 2 minutes tops maybe a bit longer then that but it was fast now i am very picky on my aiming system and tend to rely on it alot but today it was all feel baby, so for those who shoot by feel, you think you can compete at Speed Pool, as i know i couldn't unless it was my own table and i was in the zone LOL. This was only fun time after i practiced my drills now, which i don't know if is a good idea as i always go by the motto practice with a good habit, and with a purpose.

I don't know if I could. What are ther records or averages. I remember one rack of straight pool a friend of mine clocked me in at 56 seconds to run out. But I can't imagine playing any faster. That rack was fast because I played primarily stop shots, there were no clusters and I never moved the cue ball more than a foot.

yeah this is how my table layouts were and i place the balls on the table with no clusters and such and with ball in hand for the first shot the rack goes fast, like i said it was fun i wan literally running around the table LOL, i know if the shot clock was on me all the time i would be in trouble as i said i rely on my aiming system and with my preshot routine and aiming system i would be cutting it really close LOL, so this is something i am working on cutting it down. I know there is a Woman Pro player that plays Speed Pool and won a few but i can't remember her name off the bat. Yeah but tonight i was almost as fast as Luke hehee.

I agree with you TCA, and that's a very good description of zoning! I just wish more people can experience that kind of shot making, with that kind of consistancy. Practicing drills on a regular basis, makes any game easier.

Your foundation is solid, and you obviously have mastered perspective. When you feel ready to request money to go to the IPT, I will generiously donate of my means.

I can't wait till out pathes cross x(

If the balls spread with no cluster a nine ball rack will take no more than 2 1/2minutes. I need to slow that down. I can run racks but I also get out of line when I run too fast.

Speed Pool is very different than normal shooting. The way competitive speed pool is played, you cannot shoot your next shot until the CB has stopped rolling. That's why it's necessary to shoot stop shots, and sometimes soft bunts (to break up clusters). For a full rack of balls, anything under a minute is expert shooting! The record is under half a minute, and owned by David Pearson (The Ginger Wizard).
