Sponsors in the Philippines

I was just reading some of the results of the current tournament at www.poolphilippines.com and checked out the sponsors and noticed that many of the sponsors are NOT billiard industry suppliers.

They have drug companies, beer companies, and paper suppliers sponsoring this tournament.

That is a breath of fresh air. I would like to see some non-billiard American companies invest in our sport and maybe we can learn how and why some of these companies invest in pool. It would be nice to know what they get for their money. Right now Ronnie must be suffering. It may be a while before the truth is known but in the meantime, his reputation is suffering.

Estranged wives can be very vindictive especially when it comes to money or so I've heard but still the truth needs to come out and clear his name or confirm the accusations that have been put against him.

Anyway it is nice to see Alex doing well and Lee Van Corteza continues to prove he has what it takes.

I don't believe the case against Alcano is just purely coincidental. basing on the circumstances, it is most likely that somebody got in the head of Alcano's daughter. It is most likely that this is just plain extortion. the supposed rape complaint happened along the period of the WPC event, the charge was filed after Ronnie won 2 World titles and some endorsement deals and at the same time, coincide in the opening of the philippine national championship event. talking about timing. I guess if Alcano's daughter would fabricate a story, I would suggest to make her story more believable rather than outrageous. the time frame just doesn't fit. the question is, why only now? Did Alcano waited to become champion before he got the balls to rape his daughter? or maybe he just drank to hard that he lost himself (what an argument).
I'm not disregarding the fact that Alcano's daughter is not living with him, which decreases the probability of the said complaint from even happening. and increases the probability of outside influence. Kids that grew away from their family are very succeptible to certain mischiefs and misleadings from other people. by this alone, I could say that Alcano's daughter is not that fond about his father. I have seen cases like this and almost like this which became extortion cases. most of them proved to be just scams inorder to milk certain people. I just hope that these kind of people get their share of doing time in the showers like what is given as punishment to what they were complaining. sad to say, a punishment against extortion is not that deep. :mad:
